"Missing Studios" citation is largely incorrect

Surprised to see a lot of information missing... I have all TS2 EPs and SPs and I have SimPE, so I'll hopefully be able to sort the mess I've seen on a lot of websites that list The Sims 2 music. Just wanted to point out that a lot of the categories in the "Missing Studios Soundtrack" link at the bottom of the article is... incorrect. Some music that belonged in stuff packs wound up in the base game category, or on different EPs. A lot of the websites that list TS2 music mixed things up as well. Once I stop procrastinating I'll probably start adding to the list. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 16:02, July 6, 2014 (UTC)

I can help with Buy / Build / CAS / Neighborhood music. I've extracted all songs and organized them all by game... but not by mode. :/ I can't help you with radio station songs, though. Nikel Talk Vote! 16:57, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
It's not too difficult, really. Just requires some time and patience with SimPE. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 17:12, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
Hmm, looks like I was wrong (and I'm an idiot). Apparently, I had forgotten that EA can't seem to actually NAME their files reasonably, so while the .package files make organizing songs easy, the names of the actual music files are a bunch of random characters, making it impossible to identify until you extract and listen to it. I know some online sources that got most (not all) of the songs correctly categorized, so I'll do those first. Specifically, the stuff packs are a mess. I guess I'll just take my time, then. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 23:30, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
Okay, done. Took quite a lot of work but I managed to not get mixed up :) . Not sure about the music previews, but I'll do them on a later date. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 21:17, July 7, 2014 (UTC)
Eh, I guess I've gone for a while and... you didn't seem to need my help. :p And yeah, I know that random characters problem, because I've encountered it myself. The file names began to be neater in later EPs.
Do you think the list should be broken down between in-game songs and radio station songs? Nikel Talk Vote! 12:22, July 9, 2014 (UTC)
I was thinking of organizing them by category, like all CAS music go into one table, and all Buy mode music into another, etc.
Though I did have a much different question - how would I go about making the music previews? I'm probably not going to upload the full songs (Would EA sent the FBI to my house if I did?), so I'm thinking of doing what we've done with the neighborhood themes - a shortened version that's of much lower quality. The shortening I can do easily, but the quality lowering? Hmm. I do have Audacity, maybe I could experiment with it. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 22:30, July 29, 2014 (UTC)
