Regarding merging this into the career rewards page: I made a new page for these because they're not unique to any career, and because most of them are given out for little achievements (save 2 Sims, 1st successful earthquake response, invent the time machine) instead of career advancement. Also, the new professions have their own final career reward, unique to the career track. Tchotchke 00:06, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

I agree with your reasoning. Maybe something should be added to the introduction differentiating awards from career rewards? LostInRiverview (talk)(blog) 02:36, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
I agree. It would fit better there. Duskey(talk)(blog) 11:33, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
I think they're called "Service Awards". --a_morris (talk) 21:45, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
Moved to Service awards. Duskey(talk) 16:03, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

Color Differences[edit source]

Left: from debug mode Right: from gameplay

Has anyone else noticed that the rewards you get from gameplay don't always match up with the ones you get in the buydebug mode? For example, the hero medal I received from gameplay (ghosthunter profession; right) wasn't the same as the one from the debug mode (left), as the colors were completely different. What I would like to know is:

  • Has anyone noticed these subtle differences?
  • is it worth noting in the article?
  • What other colors or variations, if any, are there of the service awards found in the buydebug menu?
    • do all of them have slight color variations, or just some? which ones?

this may not seem like a big deal to most people, but when you are an OCD collector like me, these kinds of things are a big deal. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Haha, I know what you mean, I like collecting stuff in my game as well. I think that the color may be determined by the profession, and the type of medal - note how they are all named different things like medal of honor or medal of valor. I think all the medals vary slightly, whether in the ribbon color or a more subtle difference such as the actual medal itself. I'm pretty sure the only way to find out more is to get them all from all professions. That's about all I can think of and sorry if anything is wrong, I haven't played TS3 for ages. Happy collecting! ~>ђ tคlк 05:50, August 15, 2011 (UTC)

The 'typo'[edit source]

Perhaps the so-called typo is a reference to a game, since it captilises the "hero" implying it's a pronoun rather than a noun or adjective. 2.98.182.198 (talk) 00:45, April 11, 2012 (UTC)

Rename to Sims 3 Service awards[edit source]

I think this page should be renamed Sims 3 Service awards, since it does not discuss talent badges from Sims 2, or unlockable decorations from Sims 4 careers. Simsilikesims (talk) 05:55, January 14, 2018 (UTC)

I don't think talent badges or unlockable decorations would be considered "service awards." Note that there is already a distinguishing statement at the top of the article:"Not to be confused with Career rewards." I'm not convinced that a rename is necessary in this case. -- LiR talk · blog · contribs 06:24, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
