__NOTOC__
The Sims Wiki could soon have a dedicated space for Fan-created Sims, families, neighborhoods and gameplay stories, collectively known as ''Fanon''. Currently, fanon is mainly prohibited on The Sims Wiki, which has up until now chosen to take an encyclopedic role in covering ''The Sims'' series. The only spaces allowing any kind of fan content are the Player Stories pages on Sim, family, household, neighborhood and the Create A Sim pages. Currently, fanon contributors are encouraged to move their content over to [[w:c:Simsfanon|The Sims Fanon Wiki]], an affiliated wiki with some shared administrators, which is designated specifically to hold fanon.

Welcome to The Sims Wiki '''Late Night Portal'''. This portal will attempt to list all articles, categories and templates in need of editing with ''[[The Sims 3: Late Night]]'' information as it becomes available.

You can find a category tree of the [[:Category:Late Night|Late Night category]] on the right which will list all articles and sub-categories in it. The rest of this portal will manually list the remaining articles, categories, templates and provide links to image categories.
This issue last came about eight months ago in a proposal by an administrator here to have The Sims Wiki merge with The Sims Fanon Wiki. This move was accepted by Fanon Wiki administrators at the time, but failed to receive a consensus from the community; a vote was taken, with a majority opposing the merge.

The ''useful templates'' won't need updating with LN information, but they come in handy when working LN pages.
This time around, the proposal has changed somewhat. Namely the new proposal, while still titled a "merge," does not actually involve merging with the Fanon Wiki. Rather, under the proposed setup, a new Namespace would be created and designated for fanon, and new Administrators would be selected to help set it up and manage it. Under the proposal, fanon which ends up on the main namespace will be moved over to the fanon namespace; this is different from the current system where fanon is typically deleted or moved to a subpage of a user's page.

<span style="background:#FFDDCC;">'''As the game is still in development it is important that you [[Help:Cite|cite]] your sources.'''</span>
Support for the new proposal has generally been more widespread than the Merge proposal eight months ago, but it is not without its critics. Concern among many is that the merge will increase the amount of fanon that ends up in the main namespace, and may complicate matters to determine whether a page created in the main namespace is in fact canon or fanon. Along with this, many members assert that the total work for the administrators will increase, even if new fanon administrators are added. Proponents of the proposal believe that the fanon namespace concept is simple enough to not be confusing, and the creation of a fanon namespace is ideal for administrators to move stories rather than delete them.

Additionally, discussion has reached other ''Sims''-related wikis, including The Sims Fanon Wiki, regarding the proposal. An administrator from one wiki, the [[w:c:Simsdailyplanet|Sims Daily Planet Wiki]], has reportedly entered into an agreement with administrators at The Sims Fanon Wiki about their possible merger, as an alternative to The Sims Wiki merging into them. However, it is unknown if those wikis would take the same position under a Fanon namespace creation rather than a full-out merge. Little support has been shown at The Sims Wiki regarding this idea, and it has been stated multiple times that keeping fanon off The Sims Wiki does not resolve the initial problem; that fanon which accidentally ends up on The Sims Wiki is deleted by administrators who are not able to move it to the Fanon Wiki themselves.
;Guidelines
*Add <code><nowiki>{{under development|ud|ln}}</nowiki></code> at the top of every article or section concerning ''Late Night''
**Only add the countdown timer to the template when LN is close and only add it to the header of the Late Night article.

Welcome to The Sims Wiki Late Night Portal. This portal will attempt to list all articles, categories and templates in need of editing with The Sims 3: Late Night information as it becomes available.

You can find a category tree of the Late Night category on the right which will list all articles and sub-categories in it. The rest of this portal will manually list the remaining articles, categories, templates and provide links to image categories.

The useful templates won't need updating with LN information, but they come in handy when working LN pages.

As the game is still in development it is important that you cite your sources.

Guidelines
  • Add {{under development|ud|ln}} at the top of every article or section concerning Late Night
    • Only add the countdown timer to the template when LN is close and only add it to the header of the Late Night article.
  • Cite your statements!!!
  • Delete or add {{fact}} to unsourced statements.
