Childhood

When Cynthia was born, her parents weren't that well-off and couldn't afford to buy expensive toys or nice clothes for her. But all that didn't bother her, because she had inherited her mother's genius trait and she was even more excitable than her. Always being the apple of her mother's eye, she was able to make her smile even when times were tough. She had to spend many hours alone, her only companion being her loyal teddybear named Philip. Her parents taught her to speak and walk, but she had to learn to read mostly by herself, since her parents were hardly ever home. But as she was a smart child, that was not a problem for her. When her little sister Diane was born, Cynthia was really excited. Even though Diane was a few years younger than her, they became best friends when Diane aged up.

When she started attending school, Cynthia made many new friends. Her classmates didn't mind that she was smarter than them and spent her free time reading books about science instead of playing outdoors like everyone else. Later on her quick wit and good nature became even more appreciated by others as she was always eager to help her friends with their homework.

Teen Years

As the years passed, Cynthia's friends changed, whereas she stayed the same. Many of her childhood friends stopped talking to her because she was too nerdy and boring to them. Some of her classmates took advantage of her good nature by asking her to help them with their homework, but in the end Cynthia always ended up either doing the exercises by herself or showing her answers to the others. After a while she began to realise that no-one really wanted to be her friend, but she kept on helping them because that way she didn't have to be completely alone.

Cynthia's parents didn't know about her difficulties. They were very proud of her and appreciated the fact that Cynthia spent most of her free time playing with her brother and sister. The only thing that was causing discord was Cynthia's vegetarianism. Lilith and Hal tried to convince Cynthia to eat meat because they were certain that her diet wasn't healthy. Occasionally, Cynthia had to go to sleep hungry because the others were having burgers or hot dogs for dinner. It took months before her parents finally came to terms with her decision to live her life as a vegetarian.

Being a vegetarian also had an effect on Cynthia's social life. At first, she didn't know what she was supposed to eat to get a healthy amount of fibers and minerals, so her health deteriorated slitghtly. She lost twenty pounds, her skin looked greyish and her eyes had dark bags under them. Some meaner kids started insulting her and calling her names. The fact that she was able to ingore it and still keep a smile on her face only made them angrier.

Secretly, Cynthia started thinking about changing schools. She had heard about a nice boarding school named School of Peace and Love. She read about it online and it seemed like a perfect place to study. She talked about it with her parents and even though Lilith didn't want to send her favourite daughter away, they agreed to let her try it out. Cynthia was also able to convince Diane to come with her, so she didn't even have to worry about being alone in a foreign town.

Adulthood

When Cynthia returned from her boarding school, she was already a young adult. None of her old classmates could recognize her: she had gone through a complete makeover. At the School of Peace and Love Cynthia had learned how to balance her diet to avoid eating meat and still live a healthy life. She had also taken up fishing as a hobby. But she was still unsure about what she wanted to do in life.

The first few months she spent looking for a job. Working at the grocery store didn't interest her because she was overqualified for that, but being a businesswoman or a politician seemed too stressful and boring.

One day Cynthia was fishing in the river by the graveyard when she heard someone calling for help nearby. She hurried over and found an old lady laying next to a grave. She seemed awfully pale and Cynthia wasn't able to awaken her. She immediately called the ambulance but by the time they arrived, there was not much left to do. Cynthia was sent home, where she cried for hours. She felt like it was all her fault: if she had known what to do, they might have been able to save the old lady's life. And that's when she decided to dedicate her life to helping others as a doctor.

The first years were hard and tedious, and it was only going to get harder. But Cynthia convinced herself that even by cleaning bed pans she was making a difference and helping all those unfortunate people who weren't as lucky as her. Her selflessness and hard work paid off though, as by the time she was 32, she was the most well-known Gene Therapist in Riverview. Because she was known for her kind heart and sweetness, she had many patients. Some of them were little children, who had been ill since their birth. Cynthia always did her best to help them as much as possible, and it felt fantastic when some of her patients came to thank her after they had fully recovered. Working with kids made her think about having children herself, but she dismissed the idea with sadness as she didn't have a partner and didn't even have the time to look for one. She had no idea that three years later her situation would be completely different.

One day Cynthia got a new patient. Santiago Epps, 29. That name sounded familiar to her, but she couldn't remember where she had heard it before. She shrugged and went to her cabinet, where she expected to find Mr. Epps waiting for her. Instead, she saw a police officer sitting in front of her desk. For a moment, Cynthia was confused, but then it came out that Mr. Epps was a Patrol Officer and he hadn't had the time to change his clothes before the meeting. After they had greeted each other, Cynthia found out why Santiago's name seemed so familiar: he was her brother's childhood friend. They talked for half an hour and made a plan for Mr. Epps' further treatment.

After their first appointment, Santiago started seeing Cynthia once a week. His case was quite peculiar, in fact Cynthia had never treated a patient like that before. On the outside he seemed perfectly healthy, and if there hadn't been his illness, he would have been in top physical condition. It took Cynthia many weeks to figure out the correct treatment for him, and even longer for it to start having an effect. But everything went smoothly and after a year and a half, Santiago only had to meet Cynthia once a month for check-ups.

That's why when he turned up in Cynthia's cabinet only three days after their last appointment, Cynthia felt that there was something seriously wrong. There was nothing to be worried about though, as Santiago said that he was wondering if they could go out sometime. Before Cynthia could react, he added that he really wanted to know how Michael was doing and so the three of them could go and grab a bite at the diner. Cynthia didn't know what to do, so after staring at him for a moment she agreed. Only when Santiago was long gone she realised what she had done: she had agreed to go out with a patient, and that was strictly forbidden! But she assured herself that she was not really going out with him, since Michael was coming with them, and he was the main reason why Santiago wanted to get together.

After work, Cynthia called her brother and he was excited about the idea, so on Friday evening they went to Hogan's Deep-Fried Diner. At first, Cynthia felt like a third wheel because Michael and Santiago were reminiscing about their childhood, but when Santiago noticed that, he made sure that she wasn't left out of the conversation. Cynthia learned so many new things about Santiago that they had never talked about before and when it was time to leave she was glad that she had agreed to come: she couldn't remember the last time she had had a nice dinner with friends.

After that, Michael and Santiago started meeting more often, and Cynthia was always invited to go along. A few months later Santiago bought them tickets for a baseball match, but just a few days before the event, Michael decided not to go. When Cynthia asked him for a reason, he said that he was getting quite tired of hanging out with Santiago every week since they had nothing in common and besides, he had work to do. Cynthia wasn't a fan of sports but she wasn't going to let Santiago waste that much money on tickets and not show up, so she decided to go alone.

When Cynthia arrived at the stadium, Santiago naturally asked where Michael was. Cynthia had to say that he had to be at work, but fortunately Santiago wasn't too disappointed. It even seemed as if he was happy about it, but Cynthia couldn't say for sure. They watched the game and although Cynthia was really bored, Santiago managed to cheer her up with his witty remarks. After the game they decided to walk for a while since the weather was nice. When Santiago asked if Cynthia and Michael would want to go see a movie the next weekend, Cynthia had to tell him what Michael had told her. To her surprise, Santiago didn't even seem to care and asked if Cynthia would still like to go. But she didn't quite understand why wasn't Santiago upset about his friend's behavior and wanted to know what was going on. That's when Santiago explained her that he had only wanted to hang out with Michael to spend time with her, and he wasn't sure if she would have agreed to go on a date with him.

Cynthia was taken aback by his revelation. She would have really wanted to go out with him, but she had to think of the hospital's policy: no relationships between doctors and patients. She had a hard time explaining that to Santiago because he wouldn't take no for an answer. Finally she almost yelled at him to drop it, and when he saw that he couldn't convince Cynthia to go on a date, Santiago said that he was still not going to give up, and left. At first, Cynthia was afraid that Santiago would show up at her house and sing a serenade or something, and part of her even wished for it to happen, but Santiago didn't do anything. After that night they didn't talk before their next appointment, and even then their conversation was brief. A couple of months passed like that, until it was time for Santiago's last appointment: he had made a full recovery. Cynthia waited in her cabinet, but Santiago didn't show up. She was about to call him when he stormed in, looking ragged and holding a bouquet of white daisies. He said that as they were officially no longer doctor and patient, he could invite her on a date and she had no reason to refuse. And when Cynthia thought about it, she had to admit that he was right.

Cynthia and Santiago dated for 10 months before he proposed. Four months later their first child, Charon, was born. Cynthia decided to take it easy at work and focus on raising children, but she still held a few vaccination clinics around town and made some house calls once in a while. Three years later she had her second child, Jennifer. Both Charon and Jennifer turned out to be almost completely different from their parents, but they were loved nonetheless. When Jennifer had learned to walk and talk, Cynthia decided to go back to work. Amazingly, she was promoted only a few months later and she was closer than ever to achieving her lifelong dream.

Old Age

When Cynthia became an elder, she didn't even think about retiring. She was still the best surgeon in town and she wasn't going to abandon all those poor souls in need of a quick surgery. Only when she had reached her goal of becoming a World Renowned Surgeon she decided to call it quits. On the day of her retirement she was given a hero trophy by the town council and most of her old patients came to celebrate.

Her last years Cynthia spent fishing, searching the skies for new celestial bodies and tutoring her sister's children. After her death Cynthia was buried in the Old Town Cemetery alongside her husband who had passed away a few years earlier.
