Gertrude Grunt is the oldest child of Ripp and Ophelia Grunt. She lives with her parents, her twin sister Dana, and her younger brother Rex in Strangetown.

Her grandparents are General Buzz and Lyla Grunt, and Creon and Willow Nigmos. Tank and Buck Grunt are her uncles. She has five cousins, Natasha and Brick through her Uncle Tank, and James, Buchanan and Rocky through her Uncle Buck.
