Ophelia Nigmos (Οφέλια Νίγμος) (or Ophelia Specter) is a pre-made Sim who originally appears in Strangetown in The Sims 2. She also appears as an NPC in the console version of The Sims 2. Additionally, a recreation of Ophelia and her aunt were uploaded to The Sims 4 gallery as downloadable Sims.

It is possible that Ophelia's Fishing Hole in Barnacle Bay refers to her.

Biography

Life leading up to The Sims 2

At the start of the game, her parents Creon and Willow Nigmos have both drowned. As a result, Ophelia lives with her aunt, Olive Specter. Although she is related to Nervous Subject, they do not know one another when Strangetown is first played.

Ophelia has blonde hair in braids, wears a gray tank top with a black tie with white stripes, and has blue jeans with colored sneakers. She's going steady with Johnny Smith and is also friends with Ripp Grunt. When first played, she is 2 days away from becoming an adult. If University is installed, she will qualify for two scholarships: the Orphaned Sims Assistance Fund and the SimCity Scholar's Grant.

At first glance, every ancestor of Ophelia has either brown eyes or grey eyes. However, Ophelia's parents both have glitched appearances. In both of their original thumbnails, they have brown eyes. Her mother, Willow, will have green eyes if she is resurrected. Her father, Creon, will have light blue eyes if he is resurrected. This situation also occurs with Cordelia Capp; she has grey eyes and eyebrows when resurrected, even though her original thumbnail shows neither of these features.

Life leading up to The Sims 2 (PSP)

Ophelia is featured in The Sims 2 (PSP). As an adult she goes by the name Ophelia Specter and she lives in the Meetinghouse in Deadtree. Much like in The Sims 2, her home features a graveyard. Another Deadtree resident, Pita Florica, claims that the Meetinghouse is rightfully hers and asks the player to investigate. As it turns out, the Meetinghouse really belongs to Ophelia through her mother's will.

Ophelia's secrets from The Sims 2 (PSP):

1. (Personal): Ophelia no longer uses internet dating... "I live in a graveyard" doesn't attract the best men.
2. (Intimate): Ophelia has trouble sleeping without the soothing wail of a frenzied ghost.
3. (Dark): Ophelia is so absent minded, she's been known to find her keys, but lose her house!
4. (To Heir is Human): Ophelia knocked over the bookcase where her mother's will was kept.

Life leading up to The Sims 4

An official Maxis recreation of Ophelia and her aunt were uploaded to The Sims 4 gallery. However, she is referred to as a Specter rather than her original surname of Nigmos.

She is not related to Olive in this timeline, despite having the same surname.

Trivia

• Prior to the release of The Sims 2 her original name was Ophelia Specter, it was changed at some point during development. Interestingly enough, it was changed back to Specter in the console edition, and has stayed that way to The Sims 4 version. Presumably because it included "nig" in it.
