The time is once again coming for spooky costumes and lollies. Should we recycle the theme used last year, or should we come up with a different logo for this year? We definitely have to change the background, since the main wiki background has changed from what it was last year. We should resolve this discussion soon, before it's too late (sounds so dramatic, but yeah). Thoughts? — The Tim Man (TSWAHMGWContribs) 05:09, October 5, 2015 (UTC)

Discussion[edit source]

I was thinking of maybe using the same colours as last year, but just changing the background so that it matches the main background that we currently use. I wouldn't mind a different set of colours from last year either, but they would need to be dark (or cold) colours of course, minus the orange for the halloween pumpkins obviously. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 08:38, October 5, 2015 (UTC)

With the new Spooky Overrated Stuff pack out, we could potentially have some ideas/images from in-game for a spooky-themed logo. If we can't decide, however, we can always use the old theme as a last resort. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 11:13, October 5, 2015 (UTC)
I'll be honest, I know next to nothing about themes, but I wondered if it might be a good idea to incorporate some Halloween-y images from all 4 games? That way it's not too Spooky Stuff-centric, as I'm not sure if many people will even own it. Vpetmad (talk) 16:25, October 6, 2015 (UTC)
I'd advocate reusing last year's theme and logo. That way, the discussion isn't unnecessarily extended. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 20:15, October 7, 2015 (UTC)

My proposal for this year's HW background

I have photoshopped in part of a render from TS4:SS into the logo and recoloured both the logo and the background for a Halloween theme. How does it look? — The Tim Man (TSWAHMGWContribs) 10:36, October 12, 2015 (UTC)

Looks alright. But I was thinking, maybe we could make the purple quite a bit darker. Not a lot darker, but quite a bit darker. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 10:45, October 12, 2015 (UTC)
I like the logo and the background. We should also use orange and purple in place of the normal colors for {{Headerblue}} and {{Headergreen}}. -- LiR talkblogcontribs 14:05, October 12, 2015 (UTC)
I don't mind the current proposed theme, but I would prefer a darker purple. I think a darker purple would help produce a more spooky theme. But that's just me, and I respect other's opinions if they contradict mine. I quite like the idea of using orange and purple in the place of the usual colours for {{Headerblue}} and {{Headergreen}}. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 03:05, October 13, 2015 (UTC)

As you may or may not notice, I've implemented the Halloween theme that was being discussed here. With the holiday fast approaching, it seemed like we had reached a decent level of agreement here, even if there was some minor disagreement about specifics. We can always refine the theme from here on in, but I wanted to make sure that we had some theme implemented sooner rather than later. If you notice any strange issues due to the theme change, please let me know so they can be corrected ASAP.

Now, the inevitable question: how long shall we leave it up? -- LiR talkblogcontribs 18:03, October 19, 2015 (UTC)

November 2, like last year. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 20:24, October 19, 2015 (UTC)
It appears that the logo hasn't been implemented. Is this a mistake or was it intentional? — The Tim Man (TSWAHMGWContribs) 00:57, October 20, 2015 (UTC)
It's working for me. However, no changes were made to the Monobook skin. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 01:00, October 20, 2015 (UTC)
The wordmark was implemented via the Theme Designer (because Wikia won't allow you to manually adjust wiki-wordmark.png). However, Monobook doesn't use the wordmark file for its logo, and as I do not have a new logo to use on the monobook skin, I have left it alone. In your case Tim, I would recommend clearing your cache. -- LiR talkblogcontribs 01:05, October 20, 2015 (UTC)

Conclusion[edit source]

Halloween has come and gone, and so has the theme. Next year's theme can go in a new thread. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 00:48, November 3, 2015 (UTC)
