An observation about this method[edit source]

I did this method with a neighborhood that I was playing and noticed that any object that needed a Sim to produce inside of a Sim's inventory during this change basically rendered the object useless. For example, I had a Sim who had a painting in his inventory. When this change was made, the painting was worth nothing and had the default picture. It couldn't even be interacted with anymore. This also happened with food and produce. Interestingly enough, if an object was not in inventory then this didn't happen. Do you know why this might be the case? – Icemandeaf (talk) 14:43, August 3, 2016 (UTC)

Possibly has something to do with the game changing the IDNO of the neighborhood in order to resolve the ID conflict. It may be related to the disappearing tombstones in Belladonna Cove, and how the neighborhood story also suffers and often goes missing. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 15:13, August 3, 2016 (UTC)
That would make sense. Just wonder if there is a way to fix it, not that I could with this hood that I worked with because I just deleted all of the said items. – Icemandeaf (talk) 15:19, August 3, 2016 (UTC)
None that I am aware of. I know it is possible to avoid getting IDNO conflicts by removing all neighborhoods from the My Documents/The Sims 2/Neighborhoods folder except for the one you want to play with. Since there are no other neighborhoods, there will be no chance of receiving an IDNO conflict, and thus the game won't tamper with it. This is, of course, a PITA to have to do. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 16:00, August 3, 2016 (UTC)
