Goopy GilsCarbo is a pre-made townie. He has no relationships, but every player of The Sims 2 is free to get someone to meet him. He wears an outfit consisting of a cowboy shirt and plaid shorts.
The description for the Legendary Bedscalibur by Dulac Industries touts the bed's strength by saying "Feel free to eat any amount of Goopy Carbonara before snuggling down." "Goopy Carbonara" was included as a food in The Sims 3. It is presumed that the game designers named it after him.
He shows up in Pleasantview, and every custom neighbourhood the player creates. He's a Romance Sim and his zodiac sign is a Libra. If Open For Business is installed, he will often appear in the hiring pool for Sims who own a business. He is a Congressperson in politicscareer track, and will often come home with Sims who have jobs in that track.
Goopy sometimes creates mischief on community lots.
He also shows up in The Sims 2 for console as a Sim living in an Asian fusion house with other quirky roommates. He is still wearing the cowboy shirt and plaid shorts. In this version, he is a Knowledge Sim and a Cancer.
Goopy shares his name with two Barnacle Bay Sims, Alice and Celeste GilsCarbo. His relationship to them, if any, is unknown. A possible explanation may be found in Celeste's bio, which states that she likes cowboy and plaid themed things, implying that Celeste could be Goopy's daughter. Alice's bio also states that she kept the last name of her ex-husband. This might imply that Alice and Goopy married and had Celeste, but divorced afterwards.
Goopy's name is mix of two people who helped in creating The Sims 2, Goopy Rossi and Gabe Gils Carbo.
