Jacob loves video games, and has a part-time job in the gamer career track. He usually hangs out with his dad, because Andrew also loves video games. When the family is first played, Jacob is 11 days from becoming an adult. He has the same interests as his father.

Jacob is currently dating Sandra Roth, but might be having regrets about going out with her since she embarrasses him, and because his love for video games might hinder their relationship. He used to date his friend Jules O'Mackey, but broke up with her. Jacob's roommate and grandmother's best friend Betty Goldstein is Sandra's first cousin once removed.

Jacob's memories state that his mother died when he was a child, but in the family photos, it is revealed that she actually died when Jacob was a toddler. This is also the case with his grandmother, Linda, as she died when Jacob was a teen, in his memories; however, the family album shows that she died when he was a child.
