Although Marshall is deceased when the game begins, he appears in the family tree of his grandchildren Daniel and Jennifer. Neither he nor his wife appear in The Sims, although their daughter Diane does. According to Marshall's SimDNA in SimPE, his hair was brown before it turned grey. According to his age data, he had 15 days left in the elderlife stage when he died. Like most pre-made deceased Sims from The Sims 2, Marshall is completely unplayable without the use of hacks or third party programs, such as SimPE.
He, like Irma Oldie, as well as some other Sims, has an unused hairstyle. The beret in the game has a logo, but Marshall's does not. He may have been involved with the Militarycareer track. This could be attributed to the green, military-style beret he is shown wearing. If that is true, however, he may have never reached the rank of General as he lacks the title. This would be further supported, as he doesn't have the skills required for that level, or indeed any skills at all. Marshall's facial structure is almost, if not identical to the 27th Maxis face template in Create a Sim.
