Miriam Hoppcraft is a Sim who lives in Moonlight Falls. She is married to the scientist James Hoppcraft, and has a son with him named Alfred.

Both she and her husband hate the supernatural and cannot understand it. They love their son, yet they do not know that Alfred was accidentally turned into a fairy by the elderly Flora Goodfellow. The two parents are sure that everyone envies them for having such a well-behaved child, yet the two might have some really hard times ahead of them in dealing with their son's supernatural status.

She is also rightfully convinced that some fishy and rather abnormal things are up in the town, and she hopes to be able to find out the towns secrets thanks to her career in politics.
