The Moodlet Manager is an object in The Sims 3, The Sims 3 (console) and The Sims 3 Pets (console).

Functions

The Moodlet Manager has a Cure and Zap function. Cure removes all negative and neutral moodlets but sometimes will give a Zap instead resulting in a negative moodlet. The Moodlet Manager will also fill needs if they are low enough to produce a negative or neutral moodlet. Some Moodlets such as Missing Work (from the Workaholic trait) cannot be cured (See Notes).

The Cure function will instantly complete transformation to a vampire[TS3:LN].

The Singed moodlet will be removed and humans and vampires will be able to change clothes. However, this will not allow them to use a dresser to change their clothes

Appearance in games

The Sims 3

In the Windows and Mac OS X version, it is obtainable as a Lifetime Reward for 60,000 Lifetime Happiness points. When purchased, it will appear in the Sim's inventory. The Moodlet Manager can only be used by the Sim that has it in their inventory so the player will need to move it between Sims.

If the Grim Reaper takes away a Sim that has a Moodlet Manager, it will be moved to another Sim. However, if a child who has a Moodlet Manager is taken away by the Social worker, the Moodlet Manager will not be transferred to another Sim.

A Moodlet Manager can be sold for up to §12,000.

The Sims 3 (console)

In The Sims 3 (console), it is a Challenge Reward that can be purchased for 450 Challenge points. When the reward is purchased, it can be bought for §3000 in any saved game. It has the same functions as in The Sims 3 but when placed in the inventory, any Sim in the household can use the Cure and Zap functions.

Since cheats disable challenges, players cannot complete challenges to earn 450 points.

The Sims 3 Pets (console)

In The Sims 3 Pets (console), it can be obtained as an invention. It has the same features as The Sims 3 and The Sims 3 (console)

Notes

  • Sims will not use it autonomously.
  • In The Sims 3 (console), the Moodlet Manager costs §3,000.
  • It will remove the Publicly Disgraced moodlet[TS3:LN], but will not affect relationships.
  • If a Sim is Pumped, it will not fill Energy if that need is low.
  • The Sore moodlet will not be removed. In addition, moodlets that last indefinitely until an action occurs, such as those which result from a Workaholic missing work, dirty objects, darkness, or crying babies will not be removed by the Moodlet Manager.
