Santana Contender is one of the pre-made deceased ancestral Sims who resided during his lifetime in Belladonna Cove, the neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: Apartment Life. He was the son of Alonzo and Marisela Contender, the husband of Magdalena Contender (née Destraga), the younger brother of Carlos Contender, the father of Isabel Baldwin (née Contender), and the grandfather of Sofia and Marcus Baldwin. Santana is completely resurrectable, even though he doesn't have a grave. He has the Romance aspiration, and the Virgo zodiac sign. As far as personality, Santana is very neat, somewhat active, and a little bit nice. But he is very shy and quite serious.

According to Santana's SimDNA in SimPE, his hair was blond before it turned grey. According to his age data, he had 17 days left in the elder life stage when he died. Santana uses the 4th, 17th, and 27th Maxis face templates in Create a Sim. The ears and mouth use the 4th face template, the eyebrows and nose use the 27th template, and the eyes and jaw use the 17th template. Also the jaw is shorter than on the default template. However the jaw is only shorter on teenage, adult, and elder males, which may mean that the jaw was genetically passed down, as this oddity generally only occurs on Sims whose facial features were genetically passed down.

Santana's SimDNA in SimPE shows that his recessive alleles are for red hair and brown eyes. Unlike several other married ancestors from Apartment Life who have memories of their spouses, he only has Mystery Sim memories. However Santana still has memories of Isabel's birth, as well as her getting engaged and married. Strangely, he has the memory of meeting his granddaughter Sofia, but he doesn't have the memory of meeting his grandson Marcus. Deceased Sims who can be resurrected in-game will usually receive the memory of meeting their grandchildren, regardless if they have not actually met each other physically.

His name, Santana, and his younger brother's first name, Carlos, might have been a reference to a famous Mexican guitarist Carlos Santana. According to his daughter Isabel's memories, he died right after the birth of his grandson Marcus. While it isn't explicitly stated that Santana is the younger brother of the two, both his parent's memories state that Carlos was born first. However, neither Santana, nor Carlos have memories of the other one joining the family, so the evidence that Santana is the younger of the two, isn't exactly strong.
