Carlos Contender is one of the pre-made playable Sims residing in Belladonna Cove, the neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: Apartment Life. When the game begins, he is an elder and a successful boxing Hall of Famer. Carlos is shown to have had a relationship with Chastity Gere in the lot's family stories section, though at the moment, he is being wooed by Jessica Peterson. His only living family in Belladonna Cove is Isabel Baldwin (née Contender), his niece, along with his nephew-in-law Benjamin, and his great-niece Sofia and great-nephew Marcus. Carlos is the older brother of the late Santana Contender and the brother in-law of Santana's late wife, Magdalena Contender (née Destraga).

Carlos is the social butterfly in Belladonna Cove, as he has a solid 100 reputation. Carlos has a very high enthusiasm in Fitness, and he is very close to having top fitness. Carlos' last name, "Contender", probably comes from a famous book about boxing titled The Contender. His first name, Carlos, and his brother's name (Isabel's father) Santana, is a reference to Carlos Santana, the famous Mexican guitarist and leader of the band Santana.
