In The Sims 3, Simon is already deceased and his tombstone can be seen in the Goth family graveyard. He is buried with his wife, Prudence, along with his son-in-law's parents and an unknown relative (Lolita Goth). Like the other dead Sims buried on the lot, his ghost haunts the Goth Manor. If asked if he is single, the response is he is not and that his partner was Prudence Crumplebottom. While his personality in The Sims 2 indicates that he is sloppy, he has the Neat trait.
In The Sims 2, Simon is now buried in the new Goth graveyard, along with both of his daughters, his son-in-law, and his son-in-law's parents. Oddly his wife Prudence's tombstone is missing.
Simon uses a character portrait pose that was discontinued for his gender during development. The glasses he is wearing are normally only available for children and female adults and elders.
