Who is this guy? He is unplayable and never before mentioned. Unneeded. Or is this Fanon? - JEA13 [iTalk] 19:53, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

He's a repairman, one of Olive Specter's supposed murder victims. Most people overlook him, which is probably why you haven't heard of him.

Is it necessary to include him here?

So I noticed something...[edit source]

According to Seth's Remaining Days bar in SimPE, he has 101 days left before dying of old age (which is impossible through normal gameplay). But I checked out his Age duration bar and discovered something -- he was actually supposed to have 19 days left, not 101! I tried adding this information into the article, but couldn't find a way to insert it without it sounding awkward. If someone who is good at editing pages could add this info, that would be great. Thank you! Mariaw (talk) 04:25, April 19, 2018 (UTC)

Could you explain how did you get such information? AFAIK the age duration bar for elder Sims never shows the remaining days left (only SimPE does). I tried resurrecting him (briefly) with the Tombstone of L & D and his age bar showed that he's 0 day(s) old instead (which makes more sense why he's 101 days left before dying). --Frostwalker Talk - Read 05:58, April 19, 2018 (UTC)
I got the information from SimPE. I opened the neighbourhood file from the unmodified game files, and checked Seth's Sim Description. It was that where I discovered his Age duration bar showed he had only 19 days as an elder as opposed to 101, which was shown in his Remaining Days bar. Mariaw (talk) 06:14, April 19, 2018 (UTC)
Did exactly the same but mine says he's 101 days remaining (actually my SimPE showed 100 days remaining instead). Are you sure by "unmodified game file" is actually the one that came from the actual game directory (not from "My Documents")? --Frostwalker Talk - Read 06:27, April 19, 2018 (UTC)
Perhaps I should further clarify; Sims have two separate age bars; one that shows how many days they have left before aging up which is displayed on the main Sim Description tab, and one that shows how many days they have total in the current life stage which is displayed on the "Other" tab. Seth's age bar that shows how many days he has left indicates he has 101 days left, but his age bar that shows how many days he has total as an elder indicates he actually only has 19. And yes, it was from the game directory. I would have easily noticed if it was the "Documents" directory. Mariaw (talk) 06:48, April 19, 2018 (UTC)
Apologize. I don't use SimPE very often and I actually had trouble understanding you (coupled with the fact that you didn't mention the "Other" tab before). In that case, I had the same result as yours. I'm not sure how to make use of this information but I also noticed that his "Days in prev. Age" is 0 which matches the fact that he's 0 days old when (briefly) resurrected, hmmm... --Frostwalker Talk - Read 07:17, April 19, 2018 (UTC)
I am terribly sorry for the confusion. I did not notice until after I wrote those paragraphs that I left out certain important details; even I could have misinterperted what I was trying to say because of that. Mariaw (talk) 07:22, April 19, 2018 (UTC)
I really am very sorry for not making myself very clear. Also, just wondering, were you demanding an apology? If so, I would have apologised anyway. I wrote that specific part in bold to make it more obvious what I was trying to say. Sorry if it seemed like I was being rude, I do not try to be so. Mariaw (talk) 08:10, April 19, 2018 (UTC)
No, I didn't demand an apology. In fact I was apologizing to you. If I did demand it, I'd use an exclamation mark instead of a period :) --Frostwalker Talk - Read 08:19, April 19, 2018 (UTC)
There are certain Sims such as Herb and Coral Oldie, and Patrizio and Isabella Monty that don't have any days in their previous life stages, which is why their age bars are inaccurate and don't represent how many days they've actually lived.
Their age bars only represent how many days they've lived since they became elders. In Coral and Isabella's cases, their age bars say that they are 1 day old, which means that they've already spent one day as an elder, and they are both on their 2nd day as elders.
As for Seth's age data, he doesn't have 101 days left in the elder life stage in-game, because the game resets his age bar when he is resurrected or added to a playable household. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 10:21, April 19, 2018 (UTC)
@Frostwalker I am terribly sorry about that; it is very easy to misinterpert written speech.
As for the thing about Sims not having information about how old they spent in previous life stages, to my knowledge that happens with all pre-made base game Sims except Willow and Creon Nigmos (for both of whom it instead displays an extremely large, arbitrary number). Mariaw (talk) 01:20, April 20, 2018 (UTC)
That's actually incorrect. For most elder Sims, the information regarding the number of days that they've spent in the previous life stages says 54, which is why most elder Sims start off in the elder life stage being 54 days old. But there are a few pre-made playable and unplayable Sims that have that part of their data missing, so instead of saying 54 days old, it will say 0 days old. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 01:27, April 20, 2018 (UTC)
I re-checked the unmodified base game files, and the results were sort of bizarre; I checked the age data of all pre-made Sims from the base game, and none of the Sims from Pleasantview or Veronaville had any data about how many days they spent in previous life stages with the exceptions of Mortimer Goth, Consort Capp, Cordelia Capp, and all NPCs and Townies. But I re-checked Strangetown, and all playable Sims (and the majority of resurrectable deceased Sims), with the exceptions of Olive Specter, Nervous Subject, Pollination Tech#9 Smith, Bella Goth, Ajay Loner, and all four members of the Singles household, had an extremely large, arbitrary number in the 65000 range showing how long they lived in previous life stages instead of the correct number of days they should have spent. Olive and Pollination Tech#9 had the correct number (54), and Nervous Subject, Bella Goth, Ajay Loner, and the Singles had no data for it at all, like the playable Sims from Pleasantview and Strangetown. Nearly every pre-made unresurrectable deceased Sim had the same case as Nervous and the others I mentioned. Mariaw (talk) 18:05, April 20, 2018 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure the adult Sims will just have that data reset once they become elders. And while a lot of these Sims may not have the actual number of days in the previous life stages displayed in their character files, they are still outnumbered by the Sims that appear in the expansion packs. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 00:23, April 21, 2018 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────That most likely is what happens, but about the thing you said about Sims that appear in expansion packs -- I specifically said pre-made base game Sims. I never said anything about expansion packs, nor did I lump in the base game with expansion packs. Mariaw (talk) 00:30, April 21, 2018 (UTC)

Oh, right. Okay. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 00:32, April 22, 2018 (UTC)
Yeah the age data for many of the Strangetown Sims was corrupted by Maxis (among many other things), hence the absurd values. The values don't seem to cause any known issues in-game, other than the total lifespan count being wrong. --Dorsal Axe (talk) 09:22, April 22, 2018 (UTC)
