boolProp testingCheatsEnabledTS2TSS and testingCheatsEnabledTS3TSM are by far the most powerful cheats in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. Though testingCheatsEnabled is not nearly as powerful as boolProp testingCheatsEnabled, it is still the most powerful in the game. Both are debugging cheats, and even though very useful, they can have negative consequences.
boolProp testingCheatsEnabled and testingCheatsEnabled are debugging cheats left in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. They can be activated by opening up the cheat console (with CTRL+SHIFT+C) and typing boolProp testingcheatsenabled true TS2TSS or testingcheatsenabled true TS3 TSM.

This cheat is often erroneously called "boolProp", which means "Boolean property" or "true/false". In The Sims 2, there are several cheats that start with "boolProp".

The command is not case-sensitive.

Once the cheat has been enabled, clicking on any Sim or object whilst holding down the Shift key will cause a menu with debugging options to pop up. These can range from making certain Sims selectable and unselectable, making Sims grow up instantly (or killing them by Old Age, if the option is used on an Elder), changing a Sim's aspiration or traits or spawning several cheat objectsTS2. All objects have the option Force Error, which can be used to reset objects (thus halting their actions) or delete them (although not permanently in the case of Sims and Pets). The debugging cheats can be turned off by opening the cheat console and typing boolprop testingcheatsenabled false.

Players can also use testingcheatsenabled to control Sims that are not part of the household with the Make Selectable option, or they can temporarily remove household members with the Make Unselectable option. This option allows the player to control newborn babies, whom are not normally controllable. Several NPCs, such as the Grim Reaper or the Therapist, lack this option and therefore cannot be controlled by the player.
In The Sims 3, testingcheatsenabled is required for some cheats such as Buydebug.

If the player is in Create-A-Sim TS2 mode whilst the cheat is active, they can press CTRL+N to enter CAS debugging mode, which allows the player to give Sims clothing and hairstyles that would normally be unavailable (such as NPC and job-exclusive clothes).
The cheat, or at least a cheat that is very similar, has been confirmed for The Sims Medieval.

The Testingcheatsenabled cannot be activated directly in game. To activate this cheat, the player must open and edit the command.ini file in *\The Sims Medieval\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Ini (the default location is in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims Medieval\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Ini). Change TestingCheatsEnabled=0 to TestingCheatsEnabled=1 in the file to activate this cheat automatically in game. Here is a simple video tutorial on how to enable the cheat.

To use it, after entering the code followed by "true", then press the Shift key while simultaneously clicking on a Sim or the mailbox. A menu will pop up giving the player options. There are many actions possible with this cheat, including making Sims grow up, changing a Sim's aspiration or traits, moving and deleting objects that weren't movable or deletable previously (although this can also be achieved using the moveObjects cheat), spawning cheat objectsTS2, and making Sims selectable or non-selectable. To turn the cheat off type the prompt in the cheat window with the word "false" after it. Players can shift+click on anything and when clicking on counters or plumbing and electronics, it's possible to break, clean, and delete them. When using ForceError, Cancel does nothing, Reset ends all actions, even if they're otherwise unstoppable, and Delete will delete the Sim/pet/object.

Players can control Sims not in their household by making them selectable.TS2 To do this, shift+click on any Sim and click MAKE SELECTABLE. Pressing MAKE UNSELECTABLE, the opposite will happen. To control infants, click MAKE UNSELECTABLE, then MAKE SELECTABLE. Non-playable characters, or NPCs, such as the Grim Reaper, will not be able to be controlled. These Sims can be summoned using the mailbox and testingcheatsenabled or the Tombstone of L and D, though.

With this cheat enabled, it is possible to summon different objects that also act as cheats, create townies, and add people to the active family. The player can cause a Sim to receive/lose aspiration points from a want/fear by pressing the Ctrl key while simultaneously clicking on the want or fear the player wants the Sims to get the points from. This does not affect memories.

In Create-A-SimTS2, if the the cheat has been enabled prior to entering, hidden hairstyles, clothes, eye color, make-up and skin colors can be unlocked by pressing (Shift) + N. This must be done before entering Create-A-Sim. When activated, a pop-up box will appear, informing the player that has activated debugging mode and hidden aspects have been unlocked, now giving Sims the ability to wear NPC clothes and hidden hairstyles, among other things. The cheat can be disabled by pressing (Shift) + M.

Another use of this cheat can be to drag mood bars up to improve their mood or down to cause nightmares or death. The skill bars, relationship bars, and personality bars can be dragged the same way and even change a Sim's star sign. To do this though, the cheat must be activated in the neighborhood or a another lot. This is not necessary for the other uses of this cheat however.

This cheat also enables "force error".TS2 If a player uses this, depending on what they click they can delete or reset a Sim. It can be handy to reset a character if they are frozen but, unfortunately, it can also be dangerous.

When this cheat is active, family members and objects will occasionally experience errors of which the player is informed of with a popup. Game corruption can occur by using this cheat to kill off or add certain NPCs to the family.
Many times this cheat will cause family members to disappear. A pop-up will appear on the screen, saying there is an error with [error code], and give three choices. If DELETE is chosen, the Sim that was selected or interacted with disappears, but will return if you re-enter the house. It is also possible to use the Tombstone of L and D, a spawnable cheat object accessible via this cheat, instead. Once spawned, select 'Get Family Member' and click on the name of the missing Sim. This will return the Sim without losing game progress. However this can also cause glitches such as the missing Sim being treated by the game as the baby lifestage.Confirm Or, use RESET to not lose the Sim or the object. CANCEL does nothing.

It is recommended that this cheat is only used by experienced players. But even in the hands of an experienced player, it can still be risky.

An example of this cheat in action in The Sims 2.

boolProp testingCheatsEnabled and testingCheatsEnabled are debugging cheats left in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. They can be activated by opening up the cheat console (with CTRL+SHIFT+C) and typing boolProp testingcheatsenabled true [TS2][TSS] or testingcheatsenabled true [TS3] [TSM].

This cheat is often erroneously called "boolProp", which means "Boolean property" or "true/false". In The Sims 2, there are several cheats that start with "boolProp".

Use and abilities

Once the cheat has been enabled, clicking on any Sim or object whilst holding down the Shift key will cause a menu with debugging options to pop up. These can range from making certain Sims selectable and unselectable, making Sims grow up instantly (or killing them by Old Age, if the option is used on an Elder), changing a Sim's aspiration or traits or spawning several cheat objects[TS2].

If the player is in Create-A-Sim [TS2] mode whilst the cheat is active, they can press CTRL+N to enter CAS debugging mode, which allows the player to give Sims clothing and hairstyles that would normally be unavailable (such as NPC and job-exclusive clothes).

Activating cheat in The Sims Medieval

Testingcheatsenabled cannot be used by default in The Sims Medieval and instead activating it requires the player to modify the command.ini file in *\The Sims Medieval\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Ini (the default location is in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims Medieval\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Ini and change TestingCheatsEnabled=0 to TestingCheatsEnabled=1.

Dangers of using the cheat

When this cheat is active, family members and objects will occasionally experience errors of which the player is informed of with a popup. Game corruption can occur by using this cheat to kill off or add certain NPCs to the family.
