The Report page is used to report vandalism and inappropriate behavior on the wiki. Below are some general rules regarding its use.
Most users can handle vandalism on their own, without needing special assistance. This page is only intended for certain vandalism:
- Repeated vandalism from the same user, with no administrator response.
- Particularly noteworthy vandalism that has not been dealt with by an administrator.
- Creation of inappropriate or spam pages that need an administrator to delete - please nominate these pages for Speedydelete at the same time that you make your report.
This page should not be used to report issues of user behavior, especially in users who have been contributing to The Sims Wiki for more than a short period of time; these incidents should be handled through the Administrators and Ombudsman. Users should not report inappropriate usernames here - if a person registers an inappropriate username, contact an active administrator directly.
- Reporting Requirements
- The username or IP address of the offender.
- A description of vandalism (keep it clean) and the page(s) affected, preferably with diff links to examples.
- The signature of the reporting user.
- Special Rules
- If you know an administrator is online when vandalism occurs, contact that administrator directly first or find one in the IRC channel. If they do not respond within a reasonable time, post a report here.
- The content of all reports are deleted as soon as they are resolved; they are not archived.
- If a report cannot be handled by a simple block or warning (i.e. it warrants further discussion), it will be moved to The Sims Wiki talk:Admin Portal. Please do not make this move yourself; wait for an administrator to handle it.
- Once an incident has been addressed, that's the end of discussion. Do not report the same incident multiple times if the incident has already been handled by an administrator.
- Abuse of this feature will not be tolerated.
