The Sims Wiki talk:Battles
New Layout
Ok. Ive created the Sims Wiki Battles! Anyway, I'm using RR's suggested template, as Duskey's is glitchy. So, If anyone has a better template, please tell me. Thanks! BobNewbie talk • blog 15:39, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
Ideas
Ok, I think the next few battles should be:
- Simbot V.S PlantSim
- Bridgeport V.S Pleasantview
- Buy Mode V.S Build Mode
- Bed V.S CowPlant
BobNewbie talk • blog 16:07, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
- For Bridgeport vs Pleasantview, I think that's like comparing apples to oranges (A TS3 city versus a TS2 town)... I think Bridgeport vs Sunset Valley would be cooler, but it's your call. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 19:00, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with that. BobNewbie talk • blog 19:19, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
- What about something a little spooky like
- Vampire V.S Vampire (The Sims 3)
- Andronikos Leventis 17:56, December 8, 2010 (UTC)
- Please see The Sims Wiki:Battles/Nominations to nominate future battles. —Random Ranaun (Talk to me!) 09:30, December 10, 2010 (UTC)
A month? Really?
Even though the page says there's a new battle very month, the last battle has ended after a weel. Why? --Norman Average 18:52, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry. We decide to have them every 2 weeks, Please excuse the mistake. BobNewbie talk • blog 19:20, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, ok. --Norman Average 19:21, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
Countdown
Hey! As you may have noticed, the countdown is not working. Could we possibly replace the time remaining box with a end date box? BobNewbie talk • blog 07:47, December 29, 2010 (UTC)
Anons.
I have noticed quite a few IPs voting in the Battles. I know that in official community votes, we don't allow anons. to vote. Are IPs allowed to vote on the Battles or are we adopting the general voting rules? Regards, GG (t) • (c) • (b) 20:28, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm... in this case I think they could vote. --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 20:29, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
- Should we create a special "Anonymous Votes" section, specifically for them? —Random Ranaun (Talk to me!) 21:39, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
- As the battles page itself says, "Since this is a vote-for-favorite thing, everyone is allowed to take part! Vote for the one you want to win!" I don't think we need a new anonymous votes section. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 22:28, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
- Should we create a special "Anonymous Votes" section, specifically for them? —Random Ranaun (Talk to me!) 21:39, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
Signing
It's getting very tiring to place {{Unsigned}} for every user and IP who doesn't sign their votes. Should we just delete votes that aren't signed? —Random Ranaun (Talk to me!) 00:17, February 22, 2011 (UTC)

Changing the time length of battles
Even though the battle might be over in approximately 1 week, 2 week is too soon for administrators (or presently, me) to keep it updated. Since I was gone, the battle is late for 4 days already. I'm thinking about changing it from 2 weeks to 3 weeks instead. Is anyone in favor? Nikel Talk – Vote – Guess! 11:47, July 27, 2012 (UTC)
- I'm in favor. 🌹Bakerychaz (talk page · blog)🌷 12:51, July 27, 2012 (UTC)
50th Anniversary of Battles
I think there should be a speciall battle as it is the 50th aniversy somthink like a five-way battle such as Fairys vs witches vs zombies vs werwolfs vs vampires 109.148.197.107 (talk) 18:40, October 8, 2012 (UTC)
- Um, no please. No 5-way battle. But 4-way is still considerable. :) I think that's a good idea, though the problem is, we won't know a good yet exciting theme to make battles. Nikel Talk – Vote! 12:55, October 10, 2012 (UTC)
- Why doesnt there be User vs User battle or somthing
- :: Well you might find that will offend alot of people and users Y'know. DevlyHallows (talk) 07:28, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

You may suggest the next battle ideas in The Sims Wiki:Battles/Nominations as long as you keep it in a correct format. Nikel Talk – Vote! 14:18, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
Final count on Battle 59
Hi, I'm not an admin on here so I'm not comfortable trying to edit this myself, but I think the count for battle 59 has gone a bit wrong... the way it looks to me H&M did get 7 votes, but under the Diesel section the vote counter seems to have reset to one after the third vote, so the numbering goes 1-3 and then starts again with 1-5. Therefore, if I'm looking at it right, I make it 7-8 in favour of Diesel rather than 7-5 in favour of H&M. Just thought I ought to point this out, since no-one seems to have brought it up on the talk pages yet. :) Beatrice Monty (talk) 11:27, March 13, 2013 (UTC)
Next Battle
When is the next battle? Apparently the timer on the current battle has expired. C.Syde65 (talk) 07:53, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
Own Nominations
We can't vote for our own nominations I know. But once our nominations make the next battle, are we allowed to vote then? C.Syde65 (talk) 03:16, January 12, 2014 (UTC)
- What would happen if someone logged out of their user name, appeared as a "wikia contributor" and voted for their nomination as if they were another user? C.Syde65 (talk) 03:00, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
- That would be sockpuppetry. K6ka (talk | contrib) 03:06, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
- It's possible to get away with it, but it leaves you with a guilty feeling. Only users with the "CheckUser" status may look at a user's IP address - sysops and bureaucrats do not have this option - only global levels, such as VSTF, Wikia Staff, Helpers, etc. have the option. Such status is only granted to a local wiki if sockpuppetry is a problem - see this page for details. K6ka (talk | contrib) 03:51, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
