Hi, I'm Rebecca. I'm 20 years old and originally from Leicestershire (UK). I'm currently studying for my undergraduate degree in English Studies at the University of Nottingham. I am an active member of my university's Science Fiction & Fantasy Society. I love collecting and reading books; I'm into most genres but my favourites are SF&F, horror, mystery and classics. And I am a huge Sims fan, of course. ^_^

I've been playing Sims since the original game was released in the UK when I was 10 years old. I've played both The Sims and The Sims 2 with all their expansion packs/stuff packs. To my great embarrassment my younger cousin got The Sims 3 before I did and now I'm the one asking her for gaming advice. ;)  I also play The Sims 2: Castaway on Wii, although not so much any more because it still lives at my parents' house.

I chose my username because "Much Ado About Nothing" is my favourite Shakespeare play. Beatrice and Benedick are such an interesting couple, I've never really understood why the writers chose to make their namesakes siblings in The Sims 2... but maybe that's just me. :p

I'm very excited for the release of The Sims Medieval next year, as I am a huge geek for all things medieval - I hope to specialise in medieval English language and literature as a postgraduate after completing my degree, so combining that with my love of Sims seems perfect for me. :D

My contributions

My favorite pages

  • SimNation - I love how rich and complex a fictional nation can be. I'm also a big fan of the Land of Oz and the Discworld.
  • Simlish - I was fluent in Simlish by the age of 11. Unsurprisingly I'm now studying linguistics.
  • Timeline of The Sims series - Trying to establish the continuity and canon events of the series is fun. Tricky, but fun.
  • Same-sex relationships - I like to have about 10%-20% of my Sims in same-sex relationships (mirroring the real-life statistics) and I did a lot of work on this page when it was new.
