RE: Ending the Family feud[edit source]

I wasn't too impressed on your character Dr. Prometheus Hyde's methods of ending the family feud. I felt that there were better solutions available. However this could be just because I have different opinions on how to end Sim family feuds. C.Syde (talk | contribs)

I think I understand a bit more to why you ended the family feud. I think I was blinded by the other options I had in my own Sims stories myself. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 21:07, December 21, 2013 (UTC)

Kent Capp and Nervous Subject[edit source]

Yeah Kent Capp and Nervous Subject are very different. They probably don't have all much in common besides what you said about them. I think I was just inspired by what you said in Strangetown Monty 1.09 Saved about comparing Loki, Circe and Nervous with Cornwall, Regan and Kent respectively. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 20:58, December 21, 2013 (UTC)

About Aspects[edit source]

I think your stories have a greyer aspect then mine because I illustrate and write them more or less in a similar style to the developers. Whereas your show doesn't seem to inherit any of the original style from the game developers. Also I don't do machinima which is one of the many explanations to not having more grey aspects. Battles[edit source]

When you say that you treat Pleasantview Sims like Mortimer's current family, what is that supposed to mean? C.Syde (talk | contribs) 22:24, December 30, 2013 (UTC)

I got into Pleasantview, almost immediately. Veronaville took me maybe one or two days. It took me a few months to get fully into Strangetown. These days I visit all three neighbourhoods frequently. But my set order from favourite to least (out of the base game neighbourhoods) is based on how long it took me to get the hang of the pre-set storylines. All three neighbourhoods are the best ones in the Sims 2, although Belladonna Cove was good for a change.

I think Pleasantview should still be the most popular out of the three base game neighbourhoods, but I agree that the popularity of the three neighbourhoods should be more balanced. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 04:49, December 31, 2013 (UTC)

Pleasantview is the heart of the Sims 2 I think. Veronaville and Strangetown aren't necessarily there as an added bonus. But it is obvious why Pleasantview comes out on top. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 21:57, January 10, 2014 (UTC)

I guess Strangetown and Veronaville did start off as added bonuses, but now they seem a little more than that. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 01:55, January 13, 2014 (UTC)

Voices[edit source]

Why does Pascal Curious have two different voices in season two episode Nursery? C.Syde (talk | contribs) 09:00, January 14, 2014 (UTC)

Except that at some point in Nursery, Pascal gets his default voice back. Even though you changed the pitch of his voice making it deeper, when he got his default voice back (which is naturally deeper) I knew immediately that that was the voice he originally had and not the voice he had in Mediator. RE:Strangetown and Veronaville in Fischer fanon[edit source]

The Strangetown, Veronaville and Pleasantview storyline of the Fischer family are indirectly linked to the original Fischer family in the downtown of Desiderata Valley. Beside the fact they're all family in some way, I won't mix up the storylines.  So, the Sims of Strangetown will never met the Sims of Desiderata Valley, etc. (Only Strangetown and Pleasantview are an exception) Loki Beaker's Time Machine is only a major topic in Strangetown. However, Bonnie Lothario ( a far descendant of the Fischers) who lived in Pleasantview disappeared and she or a clone of her came out of the Time Machine in Strangetown...

Grey World?[edit source]

I think I sort of misunderstood what you meant by a "grey world". I thought it may have meant "less bright".

My own gameplay story is probably less ambiguous and therefore it is probably more "black" or more "white". Most of my gameplay stories do end to a lighter extent than the beginning which is probably more grey. I do have some neutral characters and some that are considered to be bad but not evil. I consider characters like Albany to be bad because of the number of Sims he is feuding with and for a bad reason.

I consider characters like General Buzz Grunt to be quite ambiguous in terms of good and evil. Even though he is prejudiced against aliens, he seems to think of them as "bad" which is understandable because who knows what to expect of aliens. Overall I consider him to be neutral even though he is clearly shown to be an antagonist.

Obviously, I sometimes have trouble sorting bad characters from the neutral ones or the neutral ones from the good ones.

Normally I tend to accept more grey worldviews, provided that I understand them and / or they are well written / shown.

I certainly do pull the strings of my Sims, especially for storytelling / writing purposes, and after I figured out how to type cheats in correctly. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:09, March 19, 2014 (UTC)

Any bitter feelings that I previously had towards "1.11: Hyde Dynamic 2" were simply caused by misunderstanding. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:08, March 31, 2014 (UTC)

Neutral or Bad?[edit source]

I think the main reason why I consider the default Albany Capp to be a bad character because he seems perfectly aware that his feuding with the Monty family is unacceptable, and he doesn't seem to care.

Whereas I think General Buzz Grunt isn't so willing to admit that his sort of feuding is unacceptable, or he's managed to convince himself that he's the good one who is trying to stop the Curious brothers, Loki Beaker, Pollination Tech 9 Smith and Olive Specter from alienating the neighbourhood even though four of the six Sims I mentioned are mostly innocent.

Even though this doesn't really make it much easier to determine their alignments, I think it does seem to make a difference as to what categories they are sorted into. But of course not everyone would sort the same Sims into the same categories. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 03:21, March 25, 2014 (UTC)

Oh yes, I think a good reason why I consider Buzz to be neutral is because he seems to be misguided whereas Albany lacks any obvious means of misguidance. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:08, March 31, 2014 (UTC)

Sim Makeovers[edit source]

I liked a lot of your makeovers for various Sims such as - Vidcund Curious, Nick Grimm, Erin Beaker, Ajay Loner, Pascal Curious, Lazlo Curious, Antonio Monty, Kent Capp and Bianca Monty.

I still prefer the default appearances of Vidcund, Erin, Ajay, Antonio and Bianca, but the makeovers are still very good. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:08, March 31, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Sims 2 Karaoke Craze[edit source]

Just saw it now. Loki and Erin's duet wasn't very good, Bianca and Antonio were slightly better but still not very good. As for Daniel and Jennifer, they were okay but they could have been better - the song in question may not have been the best one for a Simlish duet to start with. But even people can't sing terribly well all the time and neither can some birds. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 09:43, April 1, 2014 (UTC)

I haven't really used the karaoke machine in the Sims 3 yet. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 04:58, April 2, 2014 (UTC)

I still haven't checked the duet music, but I've checked the solo music. From what I've experienced so far, there appears to be only one solo karaoke track but it's one of the ones that originated from The Sims 2: Nightlife. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 09:07, April 6, 2014 (UTC)

Actually I've checked the karaoke machine and there is more than one solo track. So I guess it was just by coincidence that the same track played at least three times in a row. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 08:00, April 10, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Disappearing Graves & Game Corruption (Sims 2)[edit source]

That's the exact same problem Belladonna Cove suffers from. When you move a neighborhood from one computer to another, the Neighborhood ID may match another hood's ID in the recipient computer. The game detects this conflict and assigns the new neighborhood a different ID. However, since graves are dependent on the neighborhood's ID, they go *poof!*

The gravestones aren't actually deleted, though. Each of them has a "Global Urnstone Token", which prevents the game from automatically deleting them. The token is typically assigned to graves that are being moved from one lot to another so they don't get deleted. The FFS Lot Debugger has an option to remove these tokens - in this case, if you remove the tokens, the game immediately shreds the graves, corrupting them if you don't have NoUnlinkOnDelete.

The thread I linked you should tell you how you can get the graves back. You'll need to run the HoodChecker on your neighborhood. Use the "Remove" function after running the "Check" function - this will try to repair your neighborhood to the best of its abilities. Remember to back up your neighborhood before attempting. My Karaoke Vocal Duets[edit source]

In late 2012 I had two Sim vocal duets. The first duet consisted of Darren Dreamer (Creativity 7 - voiced by Stephen Kearin) and Daniel Pleasant (voiced by David Boat). The overall performance was not bad but the way Daniel sang sounded like he had a bad cold. His voice was higher than usual and out of tune, unlike Darren's which was low and smooth.

The second duet consisted of Nina (voiced by Zoe Galvez) and Dina Caliente (Creativity 1 - voiced by Gerri Lawlor). Despite the Caliente sisters' lack of creativity skills, their overall performance was fine.

In early 2013 I had one more Sim vocal duet. Tank (voiced by Jack Conte) feat. Buzz Grunt (voiced by Stephen Kearin). Despite the low creativity level of the Grunt men, they actually did a fair job. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 23:35, April 12, 2014 (UTC)

It could just be my opinion more than anything. I may not have seen it as the best song to do a karaoke to. Or it could be that I'm not used to having a Sim of each genders sing together. I'm not sure.

But whatever the reason, I certainly don't have a problem with mixed gender group activities, in fact I'm more than open to it. I guess it is just by coincidence that I haven't recorded a duet that features two Sims, one of each gender.

As for uploading them, I still haven't found the right time to do it, as I don't officially have my own YouTube account. Also the quality of most of my videos aren't very good because they were recorded before I worked out how to adjust the screen size, making it less blurry on a full screen. Various Messages about STM[edit source]

  • I noticed that when Loki and Circe Beaker got out of prison prematurely, their hair had grown much longer. Don't they bother to cut the hair of the inmates of STM? Although I did notice that Loki hadn't grown a beard.
    * I wonder if Kent Capp and Nick Grimm will ever appear on screen (and meet each other) at once.
    * I wonder if the victims of the Veronaville Disaster are happier deceased without the feud than living with the feud.

C.Syde (talk | contribs) 23:35, April 12, 2014 (UTC)

Kent Capp and Nervous Subject (Nick Grimm) certainly don't have much in common even though they have comparable pasts and household portraits. It could just be that I see them both as "junior figures" due to the way they are dressed and the way their back-stories are shown.

I've always seen Vidcund Curious as a senior figure probably due to his facial hair, glasses and businesslike clothing. But in reality he certainly has more in common with Kent than Nervous does. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:19, April 14, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, I see Cornwall Capp and Antonio Monty as being "senior figures". And Loki Beaker as well. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 23:03, April 17, 2014 (UTC)
