Welcome to The Sims Wiki
Welcome to The Sims Wiki OldPeople! Thanks for your contributions to the Fanon:OldPeople page! There's a lot to do around here, so I hope you'll stay with us and help us improve the wiki!
Recent changes is a great first stop, because you can see what pages other people have been editing, and where you can help.
Questions? You can ask at the Help desk or on the "discussion" page associated with each article, leave a message with an administrator or post a message on my talk page!
Need help? The Community Portal has an outline of the site, and pages to help you learn how to edit. You may also try asking for help on the IRC channel, where some users may be able to help you!
Want someone to guide you along the way? Check out our user adoption program which is designed to help out new and possibly inexperienced users like yourself.
Spotted some vandalism? We have a team of administrators who will happily deal with vandalism when they see it. If you have found some vandalism from a user who hasn't been sanctioned, you can help by reporting it!
Please sign in every time you edit, so that we can recognize you!
Want to get noticed in the community? Well, we have tons of opportunities for you! The Forums are a great place for The Sims and The Sims Wiki related questions and games! Not your style? How about a chatroom with your fellow contributors? Have some fun on the IRC channel or on-wiki chat feature! We are also the host to a variety of community created contests. Want to suggest a change for the wiki? Feel free to ask on the community discussions forum! So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and have fun!
I'm really happy to have you here, and I look forward to contributing with you! Dharden (talk) 15:56, August 23, 2016 (UTC)

RE: New user[edit source]

Hello.

What specifically do you need help with? There's a lot to Wikia, so if you're new, you may want to take a look at Wikia University, which contains a lot of helpful resources. If you're still stuck, you can always ask either at The Sims Wiki's local help desk forum, or at the Wikia Community Central forums. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 16:09, August 23, 2016 (UTC)

Signing your posts[edit source]

Hello. When you add content to talk pages and forums (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 16:21, August 23, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Hello there[edit source]

Yes, it would be okay to speak to me in chat. Just leave me another message when you're ready to speak to me in chat. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 22:56, August 23, 2016 (UTC)

Supposed Spell Checking[edit source]

I have noticed that several of your recent edits have been supposedly fixing some spelling "errors". Many of these are not actual errors in spelling but may be assumed to be as such by common spell checkers. These such edits have been reverted. Please make sure that you are sure that spelling "errors" are actually errors before making further edits in the future. Thanks. – Icemandeaf (talk) 20:04, September 10, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Blocking[edit source]

Under most circumstances if a user is blocked on one wiki, it will have no effect on their ability to edit on other wikis. If the blocking user is an administrator or bureaucrat, then it will only affect their ability to edit the wiki that they were blocked on.

However if a user has violated Wikia's terms of use by uploading pornography or spam, or if a user vandalises multiple wikis, and they are reported on the VSTF wiki, or if they are reported to Staff via Special:Contact/general, then the user will be globally blocked if the case is serious enough, which will prevent them from being able to edit on all wikis. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 08:40, September 11, 2016 (UTC)

September 2016[edit source]

Hello, I'm K6ka. I wanted to let you know that some of your recent contributions to Mysteries in The Sims series have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, please leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 16:40, September 13, 2016 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to The Sims Wiki, as you did at Cooking (The Sims 3). Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Editors who repeatedly engage in vandalism may have their editing privileges revoked. For example, you wrote in this edit that the name of the refrigerator was "Minus One Kelvin Refrigerator", however the in-game name is "MinusOne Kelvin Refrigerator". Text in-game should be written verbatim and should not be "corrected".k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 16:45, September 18, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Anonymous Users[edit source]

No the age restriction is restricted to registered users only. Since unregistered users don't have established identities, and since the Wikia's Terms of Use guidelines state that all users must be 13 years or over to register on Wikia, it does not apply to users who aren't registered. On top of that, some IP addresses are shared between several users, and some IPs are dynamic and change owners overtime, so if there was a restriction prohibiting the use of underage IP editing, such a restriction would be highly problematic. I know for a fact, that one of the IP addresses that I used in the past was a shared one, because I was once notified of some IP edits which I didn't make. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 11:49, September 18, 2016 (UTC)

Editing while logged out[edit source]

Hello. There have been recent suspicions about you having edited the wiki while logged out. Please remember to always log in before editing, as doing so helps conceal your IP address. Please also note that editing while logged out, while not expressly forbidden, is not permissible if used to deceive other editors or to vandalize or disrupt the wiki. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 22:55, October 7, 2016 (UTC)
