RE: Unsigned template need fix?

Hi.

The {{Unsigned}} template was designed to be substituted, not transcluded. When you use the template, you're supposed to add a subst: prefix to the template. Example: {{subst:Unsigned|Example|00:00 January 1, 1970}} (Produces —Preceding unsigned comment added by Example (talk • contribs) 00:00 January 1, 1970 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~). If you transclude it, it displays incorrectly.

Fixed (And an easy fix too!). I initially added some template code back in 2015 (diff) to try to get the "(UTC)" prefix to hide if the user didn't add the datestamp in the template. Back then I wasn't terribly good with complex template coding, and I didn't really understand what safesubst: did. RE: Template:Object position changed?

Hi.

The template itself is fine, and it works without problems on other pages. The problem you were seeing occurred on the Bathtub page; this happens because {{Object}} is a very complex template, and requires a lot of processing power to maintain itself. The MediaWiki software has technical limits that prevent pages from becoming too complicated, as very complex pages take a long time to parse, and use up a lot of server resources.

In simple terms, the template was used too many times on the page, making the page very complex and resource-intensive for the parser to render. The specific limit that was hit was the "Preprocessor node count", which measures how complex the page is. When this limit was exceeded, the parser simply stopped processing the rest of the page, inserting "Node-count limit exceeded" messages into the areas where it was supposed to parse information.

If you right-click on a page and select "View page source", you can find an HTML comment that has these technical limits, and how close the page was to hitting those limits. For the problematic revision in question, here's the report:

Note how the "Preprocessor node count" was at 300892, when the limit was 300000. When the page exceeded this limit, that's when the page broke as the parser refused to handle any more data.

The solution to this problem is to not use so many {{Object}} templates, or revise {{Object}} so that it's less complex. This is not the first time we've encountered this error, and you can see how it was solved on pages like Television and Bar (object).

Immune to Fire

I've talked to User:Nikel23 about this,and he even looked up the game coding for me. Apparently, Immune to Fire Sims do indeed put out fire much faster than any other type of Sim. I can provide a screenshot if you'd like, but to save everyones' time, Nikel is willing to back me up on this issue. You can talk with them if you'd like to clear this up. Thank you if you found the changed code and can correct the article. based on ambitions prima guide I have and the change the code, I think they change the code after ambition expansion pack. perhaps they change it in supranatural or showtime expansionpack when they make immune to fire always on genies and bonehilda.
