Bob Newbie was a premade sim in The Sims in the tutorial family, the Newbies. He is the son of Bob Newbie Sr. and Mags Newbie. He is the husband of Betty Newbie, the father of Brandi Broke and grandfather of Dustin Broke, Beau Broke and the unborn son of Brandi Broke.

Life leading up to The Sims

Bob Newbie was one of the premade Sims in The Sims, he and his wife Betty had just moved into the neighborhood at the start of the game. They are inhabitants of 'Neighborhood 1' and make up the welcome wagon.Bob is a Tutorial character who has many similarities to Homer Simpson. Bob is also a lazy slob who lets his wife Betty get him out of trouble or take care of the house. He is characterized by dingy, greasy clothing and a bald head. Although he is married with her, and his relationship with Betty is not very good, he and his wife Betty are probably one of the most popular sims in the sim universe.

Life leading up to The Sims 2

By the time the storyline has caught to The Sims 2, he and his wife Betty are already deceased, though he left a daughter, Brandi Broke to raise her family. She is the mother to two sons, Dustin Broke and Beau Broke, and is pregnant with her third son at the start of The Sims 2. She is the widow of Skip Broke.

Life leading up to The Sims 3

He'll be featured as a child. He lives with his parents Robert (Bob Sr.) and Margret (Mags) Newbie. He is older than Bella, and Mortimer. His family lives in a farm house in the hills. His parents are boring so he rides his bike into town to see his friend Betty Newbie.

Bob Newbie is also an available character on SimCity 4. (Note: The selectable people like him are sort of like the NPCs of today's The Sims 2. They can be selected, and you can change their names, signs, and houses. However, the houses are extremely limited, and you can't play as them.)
