Betelgeuse Lyra (née Markab) is a pre-made alien sim in Aileen Landing. She was the wife of the late Tethys Lyra. She is also the daughter of Almaak Markab and Mirzam Markab; the younger sister of Mira Xoxxaw, as well as the older sister of Ara Markab, Girtab Markab and Nihal Markab.

She is very close with all her family members since she's friends with everyone, including her sister-in-law Rhea Markab. She also has a childhood best friend Phobos Pyxis who is secretly in love with her, but she doesn't know he feels this way for her. Besides her family, she's also friends with Dione Lyra and Fomalhaut Altair, where the latter also has a secret crush on her. Like the other members of the Markab household, she is furious with the burglar Dagon Altair, but little does she know that he also has a secret crush on her.

It's possible that Fomalhaut and Dagon may have set it all up, so they could meet Betelgeuse. This may have been the reason why they got robbed in the first place and/or her husband Tethys Lyra got murdered, as it's not clear who the target really was. It could have been either one of the Queens or their caterer Tethys.

When first played, she's unemployed and is 26 days away from being an elder. She's not showing but is actually pregnant with her late husband's twins. She's named after the star Betelgeuse, a red supergiant in the constellation of Orion.
