Ana Mace (née Curious) was the daughter of Drew Curious and Aiyana Curious and the older twin sister of Emma. She has an older half-sibling named True that died at birth whom she never met.

Later in life she married Blair Mace and got a son named Kevin.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Babyhood[edit | edit source]

Ana does not remember much of her time as a baby, but was later told that it was a hard time for her parents Drew and Aiyana. Her father was still dealing the loss of his first daughter True, while also ending his relationship with True's mother Genesis. On top of that it was not just Ana but her twin sister Emma to take care of. The two tried there best and noticed that the girls were happiest when they could cuddle and nap together.

Toddlerhood[edit | edit source]

During her toddler years Ana mostly remembers her dad Drew taking care of her. He taught her all her toddler skills and would not part his way from her until she was either laughing till she couldn't breathe anymore or when he was sure her sister Emma was sound asleep. When she would play with her sister her mother was often nearby reading a book or preparing a case for her work.

Childhood[edit | edit source]

When starting school, Ana often noticed that her parents would forget to give Emma and herself lunch or prepare their clothing for the day. She got really frustrated with them but every time she would talk about it they would give her half an apology and tell her how busy they had been at work. One night Genesis spotted them home alone and not having dinner yet, she offered to cook for them. Ana was thrilled to have finally found and adult that would listen to her. She becomes close to Genesis and she is happy to see that she is willing to take care of them. When Genesis brings up the possibility of going to SimCity Academy, the school Ana's family has been going for generations, she gets really excited and tells Genesis that she wouldn't love anything better. Both Ana and Emma were shy kids in school and often didn't bring home any friends, even though Genesis encouraged this many times.

Teenhood[edit | edit source]

Moving on to high school she meets Deena Curious and the two discover they are distant cousins. When Ana points this out to Emma, who is in the same class as Deena she does not seem to care much about this. Ana, still thinking it's pretty cool and becomes great friends with Deena as the two have a lot in common. She also meets Blair Mace, who thinks her sister and herself are really cool as they are twins. Ana immediately develops a big crush on him but is too shy to act on it. As she talks to Deena about this, she convinces her to ask him out. When she asks Emma for advice as well, she tells her that she shouldn't do it and that he probably likes Emma better than her anyway. Disappointed and insecure about herself, Ana decides to let it be. Surely not long after Emma comes home and tells her that Blair and herself are dating. Ana is devastated and looks for comfort at her friend Deena.

Even though Emma and Blair start dating, Ana tries to be friendly to Blair and secretly still hopes that one day he will choose her. She will sometimes catch him staring at her, but knows she can't do or say anything about it. When Emma comes home screaming just a few days before graduation Ana learns that Blair broke up with her, as he confessed that he was not developing feelings for her. Even though she felt bad for the immensly angry Emma, she was relieved and some of her hope sparked back up again.

Adulthood[edit | edit source]

After graduation, Ana was hesitant to reach out to Blair and wasn't sure how Emma would react to all of this, as she still hadn't tamed her temper on the whole situation. Ana decides to focus on her career and gets a job in business. She likes the job and she is also pretty good at it. She is completely startled when she runs into Blair at the supermarket. He jokes that at first he wasn't sure if it was Emma or herself, hence he was not sure if he should hide or leave town. Ana still too stunned to speak, just stares at him and Blair apologizes saying it was a silly joke. Finally Ana is able to say something and tells him that it was actually kind of funny. The two start talking and old feelings come rushing back for her. Blair confesses to her that he had the biggest crush on her in high school, but that his sister told him Ana never would be interested. Confused, Ana responds again rather blankly. Blair, noticing things aren't going extremely well apologizes again and wishes her well. This is when Ana blurts out asking if he would ever like to get some coffee, to which he say yes.

Not sure what to do about Emma, and many coffee dates with Blair later, Ana realizes that she is slowly falling in love with him. She tells Blair that Emma still doesn't take her break up with Blair that well and she doesn't know how to make it better. Blair comforts her and tells her that they will let her know together, so she can see they are really in love and not playing games. Unfortunately as predicted, Emma does not take the news well and is about to become physical with Blair when Ana apologizes and drags Blair away. Later, she gets a call from Genesis who tells her that she wished she had told her, so that Ana didn't have to suffer through all this alone.

Not long after Ana and Blair told their families they were dating, Emma announces that she is seeing someone as well. Ana is happy for her and hopes that this will also calm things down between them. She tries to connect with her sister and tells her she is excited to meet her boyfriend. When at the next family gathering Emma's boyfriend Léon Darga is introduced she is stunned by his appearance. Not wanting to come across rude, as her family knows a thing or two about being strange, she tries to engage with Léon, but most he gets out of him is a lot of grunts. After a long long loooong dinner, Ana is ready to go but Blair convinces her to stick around for a little bit. When dessert arrives she finds a giant ring and when she looks at Blair he is on one knee. Crying of happiness she says yes, but she also notices Emma storming off and her boyfriend following. Drew, ignoring Emma's dramatic exit proudly tells her that Blair had asked for her hand to him and he gave his blessing. Later that night, Genesis comes up to her and whispers that she really hit gold with Blair, as he even had asked her for her blessing, as he knew how much Genesis meant to Ana. Even though it was probably one of the best nights of her life, she couldn't get rid of the bitter aftertaste Emma gave her by storming out.

With her wedding coming up, she notices her father Drew, as well as her mother and Genesis spending more and more time with each other, as well as offering any help they can to her. She is happy to see her parents warm sides again, as well as Genesis receiving the love and recognition she deserves. Her sister Emma is surprisingly distant and mellow and really makes it seem like she moved on and is happy with Léon, so Ana and Blair's wedding is beautiful and peaceful. Because it seems like her relationship with Emma seems better again, she confides that she will invite the family for dinner to tell them she is expecting. Emma seems thrilled for her and congratulates Ana.

Imagine Ana's surprise when that same night, Emma announces her engagement to Léon! The family seems surprised as the two have not been together for that long and Drew even mentioning that he never heard about this. Emma starts screaming at her father that that is just a stupid tradition and Ana bursts out in tears. While everybody is surprised by this reaction, Ana apologizes and tells the family that she is pregnant. Everyone seems to have forgotten about what just happened and congratulate the two, while Ana is still sobbing.

Her sister gets married to Léon and only shortly after that wedding Ana gives birth to Kevin Mace. She is overjoyed to finally meet her son and is happy that Blair was there all the way for her. As they had just moved into a new home, with a beautiful extra bedroom, Emma wondered if Léon and herself could stay there for a little bit. Not really wanting the extra stress that Emma brings with her, Ana is hesitant, but ultimately she agrees. While she hoped that living with her sister would make the two grow back closer to each other, the opposite seems true. Ana is constantly getting sneery remarks from Emma, and often ridicules how she stole her future and has a habit of stealing all her things. Not really want to deal with it, Ana ignores it. Blair's approach is not as friendly as hers and often threatens for Emma to move out if she keeps talking like this, but Ana always tries to calm him down and remind him that they could never kick her out because she is still her sister.

Ana started to teach Kevin his toddler skills but then both her parents died shortly after one and another. This was extremely tough on her as she feels like she just recently had reconnected with them. She was deeply saddened and even her sister Emma seemed to be taking some time off the teasing and taunting to grieve. With Kevin growing older, Emma mentions that she would love to have a child of her own, but that Léon can't have any children anymore. Ana, slightly uncomfortable and surprised by this statement tells her that she can still be the greatest aunt of all time if she wants. Emma simply responds to that with a smile.

Many nights Blair and Ana would be alone as Léon was a musician and would often work nights, while Emma would watch him. One of those nights, the fire alarm went off and Ana noticed a lot of smoke coming from downstairs. Panicking, she woke up Blair and ran for Kevin's room. To her horror she saw that his crib was empty. Crying and screaming for him, she tried to find Kevin until Blair dragged her downstairs to make sure they could leave. As they were trying to open the front door they noticed it was locked and it seemed like something was blocking it. Trying several windows were no luck either, and as most of the windows were burglar proof, none of them would break either. Ana and Blair were stuck in their own house that was going up in flames! Desperate to find an exit and even more desperate to find Kevin, both of them kept running up and down and towards any kind of window until the smoke got so thick they couldn't see their own hands anymore. In one last desperate attempt, Ana sticks her face to the glass of the front door banging it. As the smoke fills up her lungs she swears that she sees Emma staring and locking eyes with her, while holding Kevin safely outside. Ana did not make it out of the fire.
