Life leading up to The Sims 2
At the start of The Sims 2, Kate is once again living by herself at 190 Main Street in Pleasantview and being 10 days away from ageing up into an adult. As soon as the player loads the lot, Kate will run to puke in the toilet as a sign of her in fact being pregnant, with the baby being born as a result of her affair with Michael Bachelor. The baby is always born as a boy.
Kate's memories show that just after her mother's death, she began an affair with the late Michael Bachelor, which seems somewhat out of character from Kate's personality points. Nonetheless, the two of them were in love, although it may be possible Kate didn't know that Michael had a fiancé - Dina Caliente - because Dina does not show up in Kate's memories or relationships.
Kate is friends with Cassandra Goth and Mary-Sue Pleasant, who both share Kate's hard working nature. She is on the verge of getting a promotion in the culinary career to level 7. The family bio suggests that her pregnancy will prevent this.
