She starts out without any friends, though she does know Gilbert Jacquet. While she is shy, it could also be that she's fairly new in the neighborhood, and has been too busy getting her shop established to get to know anyone really well.

She is said to have a way of winning friends. While she doesn't start out with any skill points, she does start with a bronze talent badge in Flower Arranging. She is 18 days away from becoming an elder.

She has around §3000 in funds, but her home is well-furnished and her lot is well-landscaped. She will need to hire a gardener, and may want to hire a maid. She may also want to get a job in a career such as medicine or science, but that may pass once she gets the shop operating. When first played, she has no gender preference.

The name Florence may be shortened down to be Flora, which may refer to her flower arranging skills. Florence shares her first name with an Italian city. Her family bio references pasta, an Italian creation. The surname Delarosa may also be a reference to flower arranging and may stand for "of the Rose".

Strangely, if Florence's appearance is extracted with SimPE to Body Shop, she will be fat instead of thin. This is also the case of Isabella Monty and Gunnar Roque.
