You may know that Kaylynn Langerak never had proper memories in The Sims 2, because the developers never bothered to give her any memories, due to being a standard NPC Maid.

When the game developers created Kaylynn, it seems unlikely they knew that they'd be giving her more recognition, as a Romance buddy for Daniel Pleasant and Don Lothario.

• Kaylynn uses one of the default Maxis face templates in Create a Sim - Face Template 16 "Archeeng".
• Her first and last name were drawn from the list of EA and Maxis staff that helped to make the Sims 2.
• She has no pre-set biography.
• She has no pre-set memories, minus the CAS ones she sometimes gets after she is spawned in-game.
• She has no gender preference.
• Her pre-set fitness level is "thin". When viewed in SimPE, her fitness level is "5.0", midway between top "0.0" and bottom "10.0" fitness, the same as pre-made townies and other regular NPCs.
• She has no family ties.
• She might not even have been made by the developers, but randomly generated by the game itself.
  • This might even be the case of most the other pre-made townies and NPCs. Then the developers might have given Kaylynn some makeup to make her stand out as a prominent NPC.
  • Tellingly, this is also the case of Cassidy Pederson, yet she has no pre-set relationships with pre-made playable Sims.

I suspect the reason they decided to include Kaylynn as a playable character in The Sims 3 is due to the fact that they hadn't done so in The Sims 2. They probably wanted to give her more recognition than just an NPC maid from the Sims 2 who was romantically involved with Daniel and Don.

I was wondering about the memories that Kaylynn Langerak might have had in the Sims 2, had the developers made and released the Sims 3 first.

Notes

• Several of these "possible" memories may be slightly messed up in terms of the timeline, but if anyone's to blame, it's the developers. All I did was try to piece together "possible" memories that Kaylynn might have had, using some of Don Lothario and Daniel Pleasant's memories for inspiration. I did my best to get them as accurate as possible (it may not be possible for the memories to be placed in a perfect order in terms of consistency, hence the memories the developers made).
• I decided not to add a memory of Parker Langerak's death, since it's unclear how long he would have lived as an elder, or if he was still alive at the time of The Sims 2. If his aspiration meter was in platinum, he probably would still be alive.

Probably, but pre-made elder Sims like Mortimer Goth only seem to live for about as long as a Sim who transitions to elder in-game while their aspiration bar is in green or lower. I'm not sure because I haven't experimented with how much days are added to a Sims' lifespan depending on their aspiration bar when transitioning to elder. It's possible that Parker could have lived longer, if the information that Sims spend 9 - 31 days in the elder lifespan based on their aspiration bar at the time of their age transition on this page is correct. If the information is correct and Parker had been able to spend 31 days as an elder, then he would still be alive at the time of The Sims 2. Assuming that the information in the life stages page is correct, Parker may still have had a few more days left to live at the time of The Sims 2 unless he was like Mortimer who only spends 11 days as an elder (four of which have already been spent and he's on his 5th day as an elder upon loading the Sims 2). Or maybe Parker spent an unrealistically long number of days as an elder like Carlos Contender which definitely would not have been possible in normal gameplay. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 23:22, September 28, 2014 (UTC)

6 days as a Teen + 21 days as an YA = 27 days, + 21 days as an Adult = 48 days, and since it's been 50 simdays since the TS3 era, he'd be in his 3rd day of Elder. --Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 21:59, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

The only problem is we can't really confirm that it was Dustin who potty trained and taught Kaylynn to talk and that it was Iliana that taught Kaylynn to walk. But that's just my perspective. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 20:21, December 4, 2014 (UTC)

Seeing as Zelda is a childish and immature sim, it's unlikely she would have taught Kaylynn her toddler skills, and it never says that Zelda Mae has lived with Iliana and Dustin as long or longer than Kaylynn has been alive. ~ NuttySimmer (talk) 16:48, April 1, 2016 (UTC)
