Gunther Goth is a pre-created, playable sim in The Sims that premiered in the Unleashed expansion pack with his wife, Cornelia Goth, and their two cats, Hecuba and Menelaus.

In The Sims 2, Gunther is one of the pre-created, yet unplayable sims featured as ancestors of playable, pre-created sims. Though deceased when the game begins, you can see him in the relationship tree of playable sim Mortimer Goth, who is his son, as well as those of his grandchildren, Cassandra Goth and Alexander Goth.

He resided, during his lifetime, in Pleasantview, one of the neighborhoods that ships with the games. He is the father of Mortimer Goth, husband to the now infamous Bella Goth. Gunther was the husband of Cornelia Goth, and the son of Victor Goth and Gretle Goth, both of Pleasantview; he has one sibling, Frida Goth.

In The Sims 2, Gunther is buried in a family plot at the Goth mansion where his son and his children live. It is revealed, through the color of his ghost, that Gunther - along with Cornelia - lost their lives to fire. It seems that he died around the time Alexander was born, while Cornelia died when Mortimer retired, suggesting two separate fires killed them.

In The Sims Gunther was a dean in the Education career track.
