Malcolm Landgraab IV is a pre-made Sim who lives alone in a large mansion in Bluewater Village, the default shopping district. He has the same first name as his great grandfather, grandfather and father. When first played, he is at the beginning of the adult life stage, and has three skill points in Charisma.

Malcolm owns two community lots, Club Dante and Electronics Supercenter. Even though the Electronics Supercenter sells TV sets, he does not own one. However, the house is very well furnished, with expensive furniture. Since Fortune Sims often want to buy furniture, this may complicate satisfying some of Malcolm's wants.

In the Landgraab family album, there is a picture of Malcolm and a woman who resembles Nina Caliente in the hot tub. Her face is not clearly visible, and Malcolm and Nina have no memories of one another, so players may handle this as they choose.

According to a picture in the family album, his parents died while he was a child, leaving him to be raised by his paternal grandparents, Malcolm Landgraab II and Marion Landgraab.

Members of his family have appeared in The Sims for consoles and The Sims Bustin' Out.

Onomatology

Malcolm is a name of Scottish and Gaelic origin. Malcolm is also the name of "Malcolm III of Scotland", who also had a fictional counterpart in Shakespeare's play Macbeth.

Landgraab is a play on words, meaning "land grab", possibly referring to the businesses he owns.

Notes

• It can be troublesome to have Malcolm get married, as his spouse and child(ren) will inherit the “IV” part of his last name, unless the player uses SimPE to edit it out.
• Malcolm Landgraab IV is the only pre-made Sim to own two community lots and the only one to own a club.
• Strangely, his skin tone and those of his ancestors are far away from matching each other. All of his grandparents have light skin (S1), both of his parents have tan skin (S2) and he has medium skin (S3). It is unclear how this could have happened.
• While there is a picture of Malcolm with a woman in a hot tub, Malcolm has no gender preference at the start of the game.
• Malcolm wears eyeliner, a trait shared with a few other male Sims such as Morty Roth, Xander Roth, Jason Larson and Puck Summerdream.
• If SimPE, or the Tombstone of Life and Death is used to edit his name, it is discovered that his name is "Malcolm " instead of "Malcolm", which technically makes his name "Malcolm Landgraab IV". This was probably a typo made by the developers.
