Pollination Tech#9 Smith (also known as Mister Smith or Pollination Technician 9 Smith) is an alien character in both The Sims 2 and The Sims 2 for PSP.

Biography

Life leading up to The Sims 2

Though technically a strange extraterrestrial, Pollination Technician 9 is the patriarch of Strangetown, and father of four of its citizens. Although he seems to have had a very strange occupation in his adulthood, Pollination Technician 9 always wanted to just have a regular family.

Retiring after his ascent into elder-hood, he adopted the last name "Smith" and started a new family in the heart of Strangetown, becoming a well-known community leader who is respected and admired by most of his neighbors, excluding his resentful neighbor - and enemy - General Buzz Grunt, with whom he is feuding.

He is married to Jenny Smith and is the father to Johnny Smith and Jill Smith through Jenny. He had an important part taking care of his and Jenny's children. He taught all toddler skills to Johnny and two toddler skills to Jill, while Jenny only taught her how to walk. This is probably because he is a huge family Sim. Even though he won a fight with General Buzz, their relative body skills are inconsistent with that. This can be reconciled if it is assumed that they fought before Buzz maximized the Body skill, and was unlucky. (According to Buzz's memories, he was at Military level 8, which requires at least 7 Body points, when they had the fight.)

He and General Buzz have a relatively positive lifetime relationship with one another. Players have used this as a way of dissolving Buzz's prejudice against aliens.

Life leading up to The Sims 2 for PSP

Pollination Technician 9 is even older and lives with his wife and daughter. The player has to free his son Johnny in a mini game. After a worried Jenny sends the player to discover what Pollination Technician 9 has been doing outside during the night, finding him by the wreckage of a flying saucer Pollination Technician 9 reveals to the player that he was married with a family back on his home planet. He instructs the player to retrieve a photo album of his alien family. He wears an outfit similar to a Pollination Technician in one mini-game. He lives in Division 47. His facial structure is different from the PC version. In the game he speaks slowly and with no facility, possibly because he is just learning to speak Simlish.

PT9's secrets in The Sims 2 (PSP):

  1. (Personal): Pollination Tech #9 really thinks his "human disguise" is working.
  2. (Intimate): A traditional alien first date includes a trip around the moon and a swift kick in the pants.
  3. (Dark): His favorite thing about living on earth?... Free chlorofluorocarbons!
  4. (Special Delivery): The crashed UFO was here to deliver a personal item to Mister Smith.
