Metabox update — need extra eyes for bugs
Hello administrators.

Last night, Metabox was recently updated to match with the wiki's new theme, after being developed at Metabox2. Please do not delete Metabox2, as it is needed to credit the authors!

What we do need are eyes to keep a lookout for bugs with the new template. We can't expect templates to be 100% flawless, just good enough for them to be used in most obvious circumstances. If you do see a bug, leave it at Forum:New_Metabox_development#Bug_reports.

Thanks, --I am <span style="color:#0040FF">k6ka</span> <span style="color:#0080FF">Talk to me!</span> <span style="color:#0B4C5F">See what I have done</span> 13:29, April 4, 2015 (UTC)

Updating portals
I floated this out there on the new theme discussion thread, but there have been no bites yet. So, I'm hoping that I'll get some response here.

We have several portal pages that need to be updated to the new theme. Specifically, the "module boxes", lines, header bars, and icons for the headers should be swapped out to the new style, as shown on the Main Page. We have four main portals, all of which need updating:

* The Sims Wiki:Fanon Portal
* The Sims Wiki:Community Portal
* The Sims Wiki:Development Portal
* The Sims Wiki:Admin Portal

Any help is greatly appreciated! - <font color="navy">LostInRiverview</font> <font color="green">talk</font> • <font color="green">blog</font> • <font color="green">contribs</font> 20:34, April 15, 2015 (UTC)

:I made this. How does it look? All I did was changing the style to match the current wiki design... Does it need any changes? The portal mixes TS2 and TS3 icons on the headers. I like the TS3 icons, but not the TS2 ones.

:Have you considered making a template for the headers like MP header blue and MP header green? I think this part had better be discussed in the community discussion. Deletion discussions

There are several deletion discussions that have been open for quite some time. I'd like to ask other admins to either look over them and determine whether consensus has been reached, and, if so, what the verdict is, or to state their opinion so we can get closer to finishing them off. Thanks! ђ talk 04:44, March 22, 2015 (UTC)

Voting procedure

I would like admin input for an official vote in the Featured Content voting thread. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 04:50, April 4, 2015 (UTC)

I would also like for an official in Articles for inhabited lots thread. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 05:02, April 4, 2015 (UTC)
Per the Voting Policy, admin permission isn't required to start a vote. The 'Articles for inhabited lots thread' looks like it would be a pretty simple vote between two options. The Featured Content voting thread might be a bit harder to parse down into something that can be voted on. Do you have any particular ideas about how that might be done? -- LostInRiverview talkblogcontribs 05:23, April 4, 2015 (UTC)

Game and content blog posts

I think we should make a more focused effort on writing blog posts for upcoming games/expansions/new content as it's announced. I know that we used to write these quite a lot during the TS3 era (Nikel, especially), but since TS4 has come out it's mostly fallen by the wayside. The only two blogs I can think of like this are this and this.

At a time where it seems to be harder and harder to get people involved in our front page activities, those two blogs have generated quite a bit of traffic; check out the poll numbers and the comments as proof. To contrast, consider the average traffic that one of our weekly news blogs gets. Blogs about game releases seem to be a more effective way of reaching out to our reader community. Of course, one of the main goals in this is to turn readers into editors, but anything that is adding to our traffic here is helpful.

I'd like to know if there's anyone interested in helping to write these blogs. The blogs should preferably be written within a day or two of a game/content announcement or game/content release. If there's interest here in writing future blogs, we can come up with some sort of system for making sure that each major announcement gets a related blog post, since the idea of this is to make sure that we're not missing any announcements (like the GtW expansion announcement, or Newcrest). Thoughts? - LostInRiverview talkblogcontribs 16:40, June 12, 2015 (UTC)

I was actually thinking of doing a small review on Newcrest (similar to Lab's and yourselfs reviews). I'd be willing to partake in more these announcements and review blogs. ~ Beds (talk - blog) 16:52, June 12, 2015 (UTC)
I could try to help out as well. I've also been playing some older sims games recently and I've been thinking about writing up reviews/playing notes for those as well. ђ talk 01:50, June 15, 2015 (UTC)

Returning

Issue is not resolved
All has been said. Please go through the entire user rights process if you want the bureaucrat user permission. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 11:38, June 19, 2015 (UTC)

Hi It's me KazeNoYouko I am back I forgot my password and don't have the Emial to change it. Can I have my bureaucrat rights back? KazeNoYesKo (talk) 16:27, June 14, 2015 (UTC)

 Not done We can't prove that you are, in fact, KazeNoYouko. You will have to go through the TSW:RFB process again if you want to be a bureaucrat. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 17:37, June 14, 2015 (UTC)
Agreed with K6ka. While we do need to assume good faith, the simple fact is we can't prove you are who you say you are. To give you bureaucrat rights without this proof could potentially give access to bureaucrat (and by extension, administrative) tools to someone who is an impostor. Unless you can come up with some manner of proving you are who you say you are, this request can't be considered. - LostInRiverview talkblogcontribs 18:45, June 14, 2015 (UTC)

How can I prove myself? KazeNoYesKo (talk) 20:53, June 18, 2015 (UTC)

A fire-sure way to prove you are who you say you are is to remember your password to get into your old account. Other than that, I can't think of any other way to prove who you are. -- Icemandeaf (talk) 21:00, June 18, 2015 (UTC)
Unfortunately, especially because it has been so long (things have changed around here), the only way I can think of you gaining bureaucrat is to go through the entire process once again, from rollback to administrator to bureaucrat. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 21:01, June 18, 2015 (UTC)
Also since you left, the RfAs on this wiki have become much more formal. From what I've gathered when looking at the old revisions, it was all very simple for a user to be granted admin rights back then. But now it's more complicated than merely reverting vandalism. And I've heard that with the more formal RfA processes we have now "A user who could have passed an RfA or RfB five years ago, might not be able to do so today". While I don't disbelieve that you are in-fact KazeNoYouko, I too doubt you'll be able to prove yourself without accessing your old account. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:18, June 19, 2015 (UTC)

Wrong state icon in fanon

Issue is resolved
Template has been changed to correct the problem -- Icemandeaf (talk) 18:38, June 16, 2015 (UTC)

Hi, my sim was a sim (logical) but when she changed to fairy i changed her state in fanon to fairy but human icon is still, not fairy icon.. why? Colette Rousseau 17:34, June 16, 2015 (UTC)

Use the Sim3 template rather than the Sim template. That will fix it. -- Icemandeaf (talk) 17:45, June 16, 2015 (UTC)
