The Featured Editor (alternatively known as the User of the Month or Editor of the Month) is a way for the TSW community to showcase the hard work, dedication and accomplishments of its most devoted editors. The title of Featured Editor is a prestigious achievement for only the most deserving editors who have enriched The Sims Wiki in countless ways.

Featured User Selection

Prerequisites

All persons nominated as Featured Editors (nominees) must:

• Be currently active participants on The Sims Wiki.
• Not be currently blocked from the wiki, or have had a block from the wiki within a certain time:
  • For users that have received blocks, they will be ineligible to receive Featured Editor status until a time equal to twice the length of their block has passed. For example, a user blocked for one week would be ineligible for two weeks after the expiration of their block.
• Have at least 50 edits to the wiki.
• Not have been a Featured Editor for at least a six (6) month period prior to nomination.

Nomination

• Users meeting the requirements above may be nominated at any time by another user.
• Users cannot nominate themselves for Featured Editor, and they cannot ask or encourage another user to make a nomination on their behalf.
• Each user can only nominate one user at a time. However, each user can vote for as many nominees as they would like.
• A nominated user will remain on the list of nominees until they either become ineligible, or are selected as a Featured Editor.
• For purposes of counting, a nomination of a user is considered a vote for that user.

Nominating and Voting Guidelines

1. Only registered users can nominate or vote for other users.
2. Under the "Nominations and Votes" Section, place the name of the user you wish to nominate inside double brackets, in between three equals signs as follows: ===[[User:User Name|User Name]]===. Under the user's name, add a bullet point with a brief statement, such as "I nominate <user>," followed by your signature. If the user you wish to vote for has already been nominated, proceed to step 3.
3. Do not follow this step if you are the person nominating another user - follow the directions in step 2 instead. Place #--~~~~ underneath the nominated user's name. The code will automatically convert into your user name and the time of your vote. You must sign your name - unsigned votes will be deleted. Comments can be placed between "#" and "--~~~~".
4. Do NOT vote for the same user more than once. Each hashtag (#) counts as a vote.
5. Only votes of support are allowed; do not place opposition (negative) votes or otherwise try to persuade others not to vote for a particular nominee.
6. Please add new nominations at the BOTTOM of the list.

Important

In order for the instructions above to work, you must be using the classic Wikia editor. You can edit with the classic editor by clicking on the drop-down menu next to the Edit button and selecting "Classic Editor", or by going to your preferences page and changing your preferred editor to "Wikia's classic rich-text editor".

Sims2Player

• Although he's only been here for a couple of months, Sims2Player has made many constructive contributions to pages, as well as adding several inter-wiki links. He definitely deserves to become a featured editor! ― C.Syde (talk | contribs)

1. I definitely vote for him because he has worked so hard on this wiki for the past couple of months. He adds links to articles that need them and helps all around. 3. Everybody does minor edits,, You don't need to feel bad or anything about it. Though I believe that minor edits (Categorizing, Thumbnails etc..) are not as full-page improvements, adding sources/images, templates to pages, but everybody does minor edits, it doesn't really decrease of the value of the person. All (Or most) of my recent edits now are just minor such as adding images, family trees for TS1 Families and some other stuff, and the last really improving thing that I have done was on the Vacation Island page. I know that you are already have experience with source and stuff (Like you are a bureaucrat in the dutch version of this wiki) , and that you are not doing minor edits for training. Your fanons are neat and in good-standards (Reader Review: Even though I think you should add more in-depth info about their life), your fanons being neat and organized is enough to prove that you already have an experience with editing source. You are a truly great person and editor, so I vote. But remember: Anything you do is contributing, no matter how small, or how big. Imasexysimlover (talk) 22:32, September 3, 2015 (UTC)

• (comment) Sims2Player has made around 2,000 edits but I see most of them are minor edits, such as adding general links, adding punctuation, and resizing image. I wouldn't deem the edits remarkable because they don't really improve article quality a lot. But please don't let this discourage you. Instead, encourage yourself so you could improve your field of editing, like correcting grammar, phrases, and layouts. I wouldn't deny your hard work from your numerous edits though. • (comment) Your comment didn't really make my day, or did any good with my feelings. It actually feels bad because I think I worked very hard for this Wiki. Not like you because you have the most edits on this Wiki. But that comment gave me the feeling I didn't do anything... I know, you don't mean it like that. • (comment) And now I feel bad because I feel like I've worked very hard for the wiki, doing my best and since I do minor edits, I feel as though those edits are worthless now. • (comment) I can understand how Nikel's comment could be interpreted as negative, but I don't think that was his intent. If I were to try and restate what he said, I would guess that his comment was meant to be more along the lines of "you have demonstrated editing skill in making relatively minor edits, and we'd like to see you expand into more complex editing." It's not that minor edits are bad edits or useless, it's just that you have shown promise with editing, and I think that you're capable of making more significant edits than the ones you've been making. From my perspective, my concern is that you perceive yourself as not being capable of making more challenging edits, so you selectively make minor edits; if this is a misinterpretation, I apologize. • (comment) I understand that. But browse trough my edits (Don't do that) and you will see that I made pages and did some minor changes. Nikel, I'm not making minor edits because I want to train editing skills. I do them because they are a helpful and fast way of editing. I didn't started with making minor edits since Sapphire made them. She inspired me to do that. But I also make major edits and I'm currently trying to make a detailed fanon neighborhood. • The lesson I think many people in this day and age need to learn is to receive and accept criticism. Criticism is not made because one hates you, but because there is room for improvement. Nobody is perfect and everybody is subject to criticism. Avoiding criticism is simply sticking your head under the sand.
