Chat moderator requests are almost always open on SITENAME.
Requests for content moderator user rights are handled through this page. Moderator rights requests are almost always open on SITENAME.

Requests for content moderatorship
If you feel that you would make a good fit for Content Moderatorship, or you feel that another user on the wiki would make a good fit, please put your application/nomination below. Please make sure that you/your nominee meet the minimum requirements before submitting an application/nomination.

Minimum requirements
In order to apply for Content Moderator rights, or to be nominated, a user must:
* Be a registered member of The Sims Wiki for at least three months
* Be an active wiki editor in the content namespaces (the main namespace, game guides namespace, and/or the fanon namespace)
* Show an understanding of basic wiki editing, and at least some experience with more in-depth/technical aspects such as category or template usage

Procedure for Applications and Nominations
Step One - Applications or nominations
Any user who meets the minimum requirements may apply for Content Moderator rights. Applicants should add their application, including a signature, to the "Current requests" section below.

Any registered user on The Sims Wiki may nominate an eligible user for Content Moderator rights. Users nominating another user should explain why the nominee is a good fit for the role, and must include the nominating user's signature. Nominations should be added to the "Nominations" section below.

A nominee must accept a nomination on the "Requests for Moderatorship" page before it can be considered. If a nomination is accepted by the nominee and the nominee is eligible for the role, the nomination will be moved to "current requests" and will be processed in the same manner as self-applications. Nominees may decline any nomination for any reason they choose; nominees who decline nominations may be re-nominated or may apply for the position at any time in the future.

In their application, or when responding to a nomination, the applicant/nominee ("Candidate") should explain why they want and would be a good fit for the role, and must include the candidate's signature.

Step Two - Discussion
The period of discussion on a Content Moderator promotion should last at least seven (7) days. Discussions can be ended early by an administrator or bureaucrat if the candidate is found to be ineligible, if the candidate requests it, or if the application has WP:SNOWBALL due to opposition. Multiple Content Moderator discussions may be conducted simultaneously, but each discussion should focus on only one candidate.

Discussions should be focused on determining whether a candidate is a good fit for the position. Any registered member of The Sims Wiki may participate in user promotion discussions. Users are encouraged to keep an open mind about all candidates and to ask questions. Users should avoid sweeping praise or generalizations about a candidate (e.g. "he she deserves/it" or "he/she is a good editor), but should instead focus on specific positives or negatives and specific reasons why a candidate should or should not be promoted. Discussion participants are expected to remain civil and polite, especially when speaking critically of a candidate. The candidate is encouraged to participate in the discussion, especially to answer questions or address any issues regarding their candidacy. All discussion posts must be signed.

Step Three - Resolution
If, after seven days of discussion, there appears to be consensus in favor of promotion, the candidate will be promoted. If there is no clear consensus in favor of the promotion, the discussion will end and the candidate will not be promoted. In cases where a candidate is not successful in obtaining Content Moderator rights, the candidate may re-apply or be nominated again at any point in the future; however, candidates who do not achieve promotion should address the specific issue(s) brought up during the discussion before re-applying. If a user repeatedly applies for Content Moderator rights despite multiple failed applications, and the user shows no or few attempts to correct the issue(s) that led to their earlier failures, they may be restricted from making further applications for a period of time, as determined by the administrators.

Nominations
Gvaudoin
I, LostInRiverview, would like to nominate Gvaudoin for the role of Content Moderator on The Sims Wiki.

Gvaudoin has been an active or semi-active member of The Sims Wiki since the tail-end of 2017, and has shown herself to be a highly competent wiki editor in that time. She seems like someone who is genuinely interested not only in improving and expanding the content of the encyclopedia, but in engaging positively and helpfully with other members of the community.
Minimum requirements
If you feel that you are a valuable member of Chat and you think you would benefit from the Chat moderator rights, this is where to apply. The minimum requirements are:

Gvaudoin is not currently a rollbacker, and I did consider nominating her for that position instead. (For the record, rollback is not listed as a prerequisite for obtaining the Content Mod role) But, I feel that she could get more use out of the expanded toolset of the Content Mod role than she could simply from the rollback tool, and I feel that the wiki could use another experienced hand in the Content Mod position. I have no doubt that she would be well-equipped to effectively utilize these additional tools if she is ultimately promoted.
*Be an active user of Chat (on chat every day, or nearly every day) for at least four months.
*Having a fair knowledge on how Chat works and the rules of using Chat.
*A good record of civil behavior - if you have been told off for messing around or are constantly bringing up heart-touching (i.e sensitive topics) or inappropriate topics, then you are not ready for this.
*Having good English skills is a necessity as English is the only language allowed on main Chat.

Stage 1: Nominating
#Users may nominate themselves for Chat moderator rights.
#Multiple requests at one time are allowed.
#Moderator candidates that are not given any additional privileges are ineligible to be nominated or to nominate themselves for at least a month.

:Thank you for nominating me as a potential content moderator! I'd like to accept the nomination.
Stage 2: Voting
:I try my best to improve the Wiki by adding new pages, expanding on the existing content and reverting vandalism wherever I see it. #Users may support, be neutral toward, or oppose the request. Users must provide a reason behind their position.
#Users must be active in Chat in order to vote.
#Everyone's vote counts as one vote. Admins do not hold extra power.
#An administrator will then determine whether consensus has been reached. This means that Chat moderator requests require at least a two-thirds support rate to pass. <u>Strength of argument is more important than the number of votes.</u>
#Admins may vote on a request. However, an admin who votes on a request and later reviews the request must review according to the vote result, not their personal opinion of the nominee.
#Votes may be closed early if it is obvious that consensus against it will not be reached. (e.g. 6+ support and 0 oppose)

*Protect Chat from disruptive behavior by warning, kicking and/or banning disruptive individuals.
*Maintain an active presence in Chat so that it's more easily moderated; it's not worth having these rights if you're hardly ever in Chat.

Support - I have seen observing Gvaudoin's contributions over the past couple of years, and I have seen little to no reason to believe that she wouldn't be suitable for this role. ===Hurshbr===
Hello! I think I should become chat moderator because...
*I don't attack other users, I try to help out, I almost never swear, and I try to avoid fight-causing topics.
*I have been much more active on chat lately.
*I know that many people say that there are too many chat mods already, but as I write this, there are none in chat right now.
*I have fairly good English when I am not in a hurry.
*I try to stop fights and attacks.
Well, that is my request. Please let me know what you think! Hurshbr

Given unanimous support among those who have contributed to the discussion, it appears that this discussion has achieved consensus. :VoteForStrong support - She's right. She's on chat when everybody is gone. She gets along with everybody really well. (New or not.) She would make a great Chat Mod on this wiki. She deserves the rights. FangirlSIG
::User rights aren't deserved and shouldn't be seen as a reward for one's contributions to the wiki. LabSig 12:40, September 2, 2013 (UTC)
:::VoteAgainstOppose - One week of increased activity is not enough to claim you are active enough to be a chat mod, nor does it even meet the minimum requirements to put in a request. <font face="comic sans MS"><span style="text-shadow:aqua 0px 2px 2px;color:#0000BC">GAHSIcepick (talk)</span></font> 15:40, September 2, 2013 (UTC)
::::VoteForSupport - No issues come to mind that I feel would affect your ability to handle yourself as a chat moderator. As far as activity goes, Hurshbr is evidently around when nobody else is and we've had an incident before where somebody posted porn and blamed it on another user when no other mods were around. If she has improved her activity as of late then we can assume it will only get better as time goes on. Having given this some thought, I can't find a good argument to oppose this request and I'm confident Hurshbr will be an effective chat moderator. LabSig 12:40, September 2, 2013 (UTC)
:::::VoteAgainst Oppose - As for Hurshbr becoming a chat mod, I think she's capable. However, I do have a severe concern about activity, as she's only been really quite active for about a week, maybe a little bit more, and she's quite on-and-off too. I'd recommend some serious consistent activity improvement, to which I will almost certainly reconsider my vote. <font face="Courier (typeface)"><font color="#74C365">Asher</font><font color="#FFA700">Éire</font> <small>'Sup?</small> </font> 15:34, September 2, 2013 (UTC)
::::::Neutral Neutral - I kinda agree with everyone. Yes, her activity is increasing but at the same time she's still not on all that often. But as Lab said, it could increase over time. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. 16:13, September 2, 2013 (UTC)
:::::::<strike>Neutral Neutral - I can see a supporting and opposing point to Hurshbr becoming a Chat Mod. Firstly, she is a user who I think will be most capable with handling the rights of Chat Mod and I would feel confident enough to have her as a Chat Mod. However, I am slightly worried about her activity. She tends to come onto Chat, in a nice manner but then abruptly leaves without a word said and doesn't come back for either a day or longer. I'm not opposing this request, but I am not supporting it. If Hurshbr can approve her activity then I will perhaps support next time around. ::::::::VoteAgainst Oppose I'm sorry, but after some hard thinking, I've come to realise that you are only on Chat twice a week and only visit for a few minutes. Improve your activity and I will reconsider my vote, but you are almost there. Sorry. <font color="#6B1D51">Beds</font> (<font color="#512d17">parlare</font> - <font color="#512d17">da leggere</font>) 21:29, September 2, 2013 (UTC)
:::::::::VoteAgainstOppose - As has been said above, I do not believe that Hurshbr is active enough to be made a chat mod. RossInSA (talk) 15:24, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

Requests for Chat moderatorship
The general consensus here is that while Hurshbr is a user who probably could effectively handle being a chat moderator, her activity is kind of iffy and she could do with being more active in Chat. As such, Hurshbr will not receive chat moderator rights at this time. LabSig 19:32, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

Requests for content moderatorship[edit source]

If you feel that you would make a good fit for Content Moderatorship, or you feel that another user on the wiki would make a good fit, please put your application/nomination below. Please make sure that you/your nominee meet the minimum requirements before submitting an application/nomination.

Minimum requirements[edit source]

In order to apply for Content Moderator rights, or to be nominated, a user must:

 • Be a registered member of The Sims Wiki for at least three months
 • Be an active wiki editor in the content namespaces (the main namespace, game guides namespace, and/or the fanon namespace)
 • Show an understanding of basic wiki editing, and at least some experience with more in-depth/technical aspects such as category or template usage

Procedure for Applications and Nominations[edit source]

Step One - Applications or nominations[edit source]

Step Two - Discussion[edit source]

The period of discussion on a Content Moderator promotion should last at least seven (7) days. Discussions can be ended early by an administrator or bureaucrat if the candidate is found to be ineligible, if the candidate requests it, or if the application has no chance of succeeding due to opposition.

Step Three - Resolution[edit source]

Nominations[edit source]

Gvaudoin[edit source]

I, LostInRiverview, would like to nominate Gvaudoin (talk · contribs · editcount · block · modify rights · logs · block log) for the role of Content Moderator on The Sims Wiki.
