Inactive nominations

I think there's something like... defect in the nomination rules. A user who notably contributed in a particular time, such as on March, will be nominated as a Featured Editor. They however might remain in the nomination table if they're not featured, and might eventually until December. Between that time, that user might no longer be very active, like on June, but they're still nominated for no apparent reason on December. It, like, doesn't make any sense that they're featured on December when they might have been "forgotten". How do you think if we change some rules in this kind of situation? Currently, I'm questioning about Vss2eip's nomination since he is no longer active. Nikel Talk 05:19, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

Interesting...I'd say that a user who hasn't been active for say 3 months(-ish) would be somewhat ineligible to be nominated/featured. It's kind of silly for someone to be featured and that they never find out about it. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 08:12, May 25, 2012 (UTC)
I think 2 months is enough if the user never appear ever again. Users who don't regularly edit, but are still active and appear on some occasions (I can note The Black Scorpion for example) are still valid for nominations. That's what I think. Nikel Talk 08:18, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

Nickel Featured Editor form August - October

I was just wondering why is Nikel still featured editor even if its past August- Why has no one changed it? 109.151.67.5 (talk) 14:42, October 12, 2012 (UTC)

Featured Editor?

Is there still a Featured Editor? Haven't seen one since May for ThomasWikia. Joey.eyeball (talk) 04:48, December 26, 2013 (UTC)

Please read more about it here. Nikel Talk Vote! 07:33, December 26, 2013 (UTC)
Indefinite hiatus? Someone should bring up the discussion again. Joey.eyeball (talk) 08:26, December 26, 2013 (UTC)
I doubt it would bring enough attention, especially if there isn't a real solution to resolve the problem. Nikel Talk Vote! 16:35, December 28, 2013 (UTC)

Featured User Fake

What would happen if a non-featured user added the featured user tab to their userpage without being nominated or having their nomination approved first? -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:17, March 16, 2014 (UTC)

Probably an administrator or bureaucrat will remove it and they will get a warning. Joey.eyeball (talk) 18:32, March 20, 2014 (UTC)

Old nominations

Well, I'm glad that this featured content was made alive again... sort of, but are some of the nominees still valid? I mean, The Black Scorpion made pretty great contributions way back then, but that's the problem. The featured editor is supposed to award the nominee for the current month. It's strange to award someone when they are barely even in the wiki anymore. Nikel Talk Vote! 14:10, June 30, 2014 (UTC)

Two featured editors in a month

I always think this every month since I've joined the wiki. But... it will never happen, yet let coincidence take its act. But if two editors had been featured in a month, will the choice be by first-letter-username or high edits, by an admin, or by put them both as featured editors? ~~.ThePeculiarMe | (talk to me) | (my mistakes) 09:19, October 25, 2014 (UTC)

I'm sure that eventually the admin who takes care of this will have to decide. Consider there's a tie and the admin hasn't made a vote yet. The nominee that becomes the featured editor means that the admin puts his/her vote on that nominee, basically. Nikel Talk Vote! 16:17, October 27, 2014 (UTC)

Updating the Featured Editor

To anyone who clears out the votes to pick the current Featured Editor, always remember to update {{Featured Editor}} as well. Please don't just declare the Featured Editor while neglecting this template. Nikel Talk Vote! 12:05, November 6, 2014 (UTC)

Keeping Nominations made by users that are now blocked

I'm just wondering if a user could still be nominated to be a featured editor if the user that nominated them got placed under an indefinite block? For example, if a user was a disruptive user and they randomly nominated a user, and then the nominating user got blocked for whatever reason. Would the user that was nominated still stay on the list of candidates, or would the nomination made by the indefinitely blocked user need to be removed. I'm pretty sure it's no big deal, but I was just wondering all the same. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:57, May 26, 2015 (UTC)

I think this would be something that we can discuss here, since to my knowledge this has not occurred before. Based on my reading of the page, there is no rule that says a blocked user's nominations or votes are discarded. Specifically, the rules say, "[a] nominated user will remain on the list of nominees until they either become ineligible, or are selected as a Featured Editor." But, if we want to have it so that indefinitely blocked users have their nominations and/or votes disregarded, we can decide that here and now. -- LostInRiverview talkblogcontribs 13:31, May 26, 2015 (UTC)
This was somewhat decided (unofficially) on my RfB, with: the user that requested this nomination has been blocked from editing The Sims Wiki. Therefore, I am inclined to say that this nomination is null-and-void. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 13:47, May 26, 2015 (UTC)
