Sims 1 cheats
In video games, a cheat is a feature added by the game developers and hidden from normal gameplay that changes the game mechanics. In The Sims series, cheats are typically activated through entering codes into a text window, which can be opened through a unique key combination (usually ctrl). Cheats may also be in the form of game glitches or bugs, which are purposefully exploited to bring about some benefit not originally intended by the game developers.
There are loads, but right now the only ones I can remember are:
*Rosebud: Gives 1000 simoleans. But repeating the expression :; after the word rosebud results in more money (1000 x the number of :; used) by ending the code with a : the chaet will continue indefinatly until the player either closes the cheat box, removes the colon or there is 999,999 simoleans in the bank, at which point the money becomes unlimited.

Cheats are used mainly to aid in game play by eliminating certain challenges or obstacles. Cheats can also be activated to aid in story telling, to fix bugs or glitches in the game, or just for the enjoyment of the player. The term "cheat" applies to every use of these hidden codes or features, regardless of whether the cheats give the player an unearned advantage. Thus a player can use cheats without "cheating" the game, though this depends on which cheats are used and how.
As a point of intrest, the use of 'rosebud' as a cheat probably comes from the famous movie 'Citizen Kane' (made me cry lol- amthsyeteys2) in which the last word of the dying rich man was 'Rosebud' which was the name of his childhood sled, when he was poor, apparently the last time he was ever happy.

Cheat Console
*moveobjects_on / _off: Allows the player to move anyobject in the game anywhere. Causes some problems. This cheat can be used to give the sim full motives again, but also has the chance of deleting the skill information of the character.
The cheat console is a text box that can be used to enter cheats, and to activate or deactivate cheats. The cheat console is opened during game play by holding down ctrl and shift and pressing C. The cheat can then be typed into the box and activated by pressing -enter. Cheats can be repeated by adding semicolon! after the code. Ending the code with ! will repeat the cheat indefinitely until the player either closes the cheat box or removes the semicolon.

Some versions of Windows may have ctrl set to another program or function, in which case may need to be used to open the cheat console instead.
Base game cheats
*Kaching: 1,000 Sim simoleans. :; doesn't work.
Cheat Shortcuts
*Motherlode: 50,000 simoleans.
*ctrl (Windows) or cmd(Mac), then the cheat, then -enter or returnTSTS2TSSTS3TSM
*moveobjects on: Similar to the sims 1 cheat, but cant be used to restore needs. Useful for deleting glitched items, NPCs and creating cool effects.
*Depending on the console, hold the shoulder buttons (L1 + R1 + L2 + R2 for PS2, L + R for GameCube and LT + RT for Xbox) and type the correct cheatTSC
*boolprop testingcheatsenabled true: Arguably the most useful and contreversial cheat. It deserves a whole page to itsself.
*Press the buttons in order to activate a cheat (a sound will be played) and locate the cheat objectsTSBOTU:SITCTS2C
*aging -on/-off: Pretty self explanatory. Sims wont age, with expetion to university.
*Pause the game and hold L1, L2, R1, & R2 (PS3) or LT, RT, RB, LB (Xbox 360)TS3C
*intProp maxNumOfVisitingSims (number): Changes maximum allowed number of visiting sims on a lot at any given time. Useful if the game deems your computer slow and you feel like challenging it. Bear in mide there is a reason the number is low, however.

*boolProp snapObjectsToGrid true/false: objects are not fixed to grid. Useful for decorative purposes, can sometimes lead to strange animations that dont line up with the object in question, but thats about it.
The Sims 3 Console Games
*boolprop constrainFloorElevation true/false: Allows player to raise the floor even if there are objects or a second floor above the area. This cheat is more useful that in sounds. Learn about it here

In video games, a cheat is a feature added by the game developers and hidden from normal gameplay that changes the game mechanics. In The Sims series, cheats are typically activated through entering codes into a text window, which can be opened through a unique key combination (usually ^ Ctrl+⇧ Shift+C). Cheats may also be in the form of game glitches or bugs, which are purposefully exploited to bring about some benefit not originally intended by the game developers.

Cheat Console[edit | edit source]

The cheat console is a text box that can be used to enter cheats, and to activate or deactivate cheats. The cheat console is opened during game play by holding down ^ Ctrl and ⇧ Shift and pressing C. The cheat can then be typed into the box and activated by pressing ↵ Enter. Cheats can be repeated by adding ;! after the code. Ending the code with ! will repeat the cheat indefinitely until the player either closes the cheat box or removes the semicolon.

Some versions of Windows may have ^ Ctrl+⇧ Shift+C set to another program or function, in which case ^ Ctrl+⇧ Shift+⊞ Win+C may need to be used to open the cheat console instead.

Cheat Shortcuts[edit | edit source]

The Sims 3 Console Games[edit | edit source]

Warning: This will disable Challenges and Trophies/Achievements, please make a backup save if you want to use cheats.

Pause the game and hold L1, L2, R1 & R2 (PS3) or LT, RT, RB, LB (Xbox 360)

Unlike preceding games of The Sims console games as well as The Sims 3, cheats will now cause a penalty as it disables Challenges and Trophies (PS3) or achievements (Xbox 360). If the player is about to use cheats, the game will warn them by displaying a message as seen below.

Cheat message dialogs[edit | edit source]

When L1, L2, R1, & R2 (PS3) or LT, RT, RB, LB (Xbox 360) are pressed:

Are you sure you want to enable cheats?

If you save your game with cheats enabled, that game will no longer be able to complete Challenges or Trophies.

If the player selects I understand. Let the cheating begin!, a prompt is displayed asking if the player wants to save:

Would you like to save a copy of your current game without cheats enabled so that you can later resume your cheats-free, Challenges-enabled progress?

The Sims 3 will display an additional message: Cheats are now enabled!

Spoot the Magic Llama is now available for free in the Miscellaneous Decor section of Buy Mode. All cheats are available as interactions on the llama. You may place it on your home lot or use it from your inventory at any time.

If you want to resume playing without cheats, you must either load a game that does not have cheats enabled or start a new game.

When L1, L2, R1, & R2 (PS3) or LT, RT, RB, LB (Xbox 360) are pressed:

Are you sure you want to enable Creation Mode?

If you save your game with it enabled, you will no longer be able to complete Challenges or Trophies.

If I understand. Let the cheating begin! is selected, a dialog is displayed asking if the player wants to save:

Would you like to save a copy of your current game without Creation Mode enabled so that you can later resume your cheats-free, Challenges-enabled progress?

The message is then displayed:

Creation Mode enabled!
