Kenneth Rutherford is one of the pre-made deceased ancestral Sims who resided during his lifetime in Belladonna Cove, the neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: Apartment Life. He was the son of Barry and Rosalyn Rutherford, the husband of Leandra Rutherford (née Melkin), the father of Marissa Cleveland (née Rutherford) and Geoff Rutherford, and the grandfather of Justin Cleveland. Kenneth is completely resurrectable, even though he doesn't have a grave. He has the Fortune aspiration, and the Aries zodiac sign. As far as personality, Kenneth is very outgoing, somewhat active, and a little bit neat. But he is quite serious and grouchy.

According to Kenneth's SimDNA in SimPE, his hair was red before it turned grey. According to his age data, he had 15 days left in the elder life stage when he died. Kenneth uses the 13th Maxis face template in Create a Sim, except the ears and eyes which use the 2nd face template. Also the jaw is slightly longer. However the jaw is only longer on teenage, adult, and elder females, which may mean that the jaw was genetically passed down, as this oddity generally only occurs on Sims whose facial features were genetically passed down.

Kenneth's SimDNA in SimPE shows that her recessive alleles are for blond hair and light blue eyes. Also his dominant skin tone range is for tanned skin, while his recessive skin tone range is for light skin. However Kenneth's dominant and recessive alleles are for tanned skin. Unlike several other married ancestors from Apartment Life who have memories of their spouses, he only has Mystery Sim memories. However Kenneth still has memories of Marissa and Geoff's births, as well as Marissa getting engaged and married, and meeting his grandson Justin.

It is known that Kenneth had Geoff very late in his life, since Marissa was a teen when he was born. Strangely, both Kenneth and his wife's memories indicate that Geoff was born before Marissa, while Marissa has the memory of Geoff's birth, which clearly implies that she is supposed to be the older sibling. This is further supported, as Marissa is much older than Geoff in-game, and Geoff having the memory of learning to walk from Marissa, though Marissa does not have it. Despite his lifetime want, Kenneth isn't interested in Health.

Kenneth is the anglicized form of two names: Coinneach, from the Gaelic caoin, or handsome and Cinaed, Gaelic for 'born of fire'. .
