User Namespace

You deleted Minzy107's page about themself, whilst it should've been moved to the user namespace. I restored the page, and moved it. If you want to move a page to the user namespace, click the "Move" button, and make the name that it'll be moved to "User:Insertnamehere/titleofthecurrentpage". I myself speak a bit French, quite a lot of Dutch (since I am) and a tad bit of Yiddish. And of course there's no such thing as a French school subject in Indonesia. Maybe in those expensive high society schools, but certainly not in normal schools.

You should've left it up to the big dogs, TNE, Bayoubash, Bleeh, and A morris. I'm not really sure why A morris gave you adminship. But, it was her decision. Oh well.

Block of 2.102.xxx.xxx IP range

The block that was made against against 2.102.0.0/16 was made with the specific intent of blocking this repeat vandal. RandomRanaun and I are both aware of how substantial that block is, but the only alternative is to continue to block this vandal one IP address at a time until they get bored (which doesn't seem likely considering the user's been at it for weeks, and I believe may have been using a different IP range beforehand).

The solution RR and I had devised was to block the 2.102.0.0 range for a while to see if the vandal would switch IP ranges completely, or just give up. I don't know of any good faith editors from that range (i.e. any editor other than the vandal), so I am not uncomfortable with a block of this range (so long as the block isn't permanent). I've restored the block, but have allowed anonymous users under that IP to register accounts... I feel this is the best solution, as it will force the vandal to register (and subsequently receive a username block) or to switch IPs, while still giving any legitimate editor in that range the opportunity to create an account or post on their talk page to request that their IP be unblocked. -- LostInRiverview ^{talk · blog} 23:19, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

Help needed

Saw the default message sent. Wonder if you can help me with a template related problem. I am trying to create emulated Object Oriented template for the equipment in The Sims Medieval. Most of it seems fine so far, but I have having problem with the image link text showing up correctly as images. The test case I was woking on is Seraphim, which uses the Template:Sword template to generate the "Object". (The reason why it goes through a template instead of putting the #switch: directly in the page itself is so that certain common derived properties can be composited). To recall a property say the attack value of Seraphim, we can put in {{:Seraphim|attack}} which gives this value 7 (this is generated by template). Likewise for other properties. The current problem is that although the property for 'image' shows the text (File:Duel_seraphim_darkstone_bulwark.png), wiki doesn't convert it to image as expected.

Problem solved. Turns out it is due to the inbuilt category part of normal pages not wrapped with noinclude tags, which cases problems when they are explicitly used as templates.

The change from semi-protection to permanent protection was for one day, to prevent anyone from editing the April Fools joke that was up at the time. Email

Hello there! I thought I should contact the entire admin team about this, since this is a little bit off-wiki but still, from what I and some contacted admins can see, an idea that could be beneficial for The Sims Wiki.

I am currently in the planning - almost creating - process of making an email account for The Sims Wiki. This account, while not needed extremely, could bring a large amount of positive things for the wiki.

Firstly, this is a smaller The Sims Wiki version of Special:Contact. Through this, we can send surveys to users about new features or ideas we implement. Do the users agree with a makeover of the Community Portal? Do the users want this policy to be added? What ideas do users have for the future?

Secondly, we can use this for more private, though still completely controlled, user reporting. If I see someone being rude to me and don't want to "look stupid" by reporting it to an admin, which some users do think, what do I do? I send an email through, and let an admin read it and check what's been going on. Note: This isn't a "I emailed first!" scenario, every user involved, included the sender, will be investigated.

Thirdly, and this is completely optional for users, they can "subscribe" to the newsletter. This will be where they allow us to send a monthly, if not bi-weekly, email, containing links to active votes and discussions, the Newsletter, open positions, new features, etc.

Now, I still have a lot of ideas on how to use this productively, but another reason I'm contacting all admins is to sort out something. I know that I may not be completely trusted by all of the admins to handle this alone so I am going to ask all admins who wish to join the project to say so on my talk page, and I will send the password to you once the email account is activated. Currently, I prefer as little users managing this account as possible, due to problems that may arise if all admins had access to the same account. I would appreciate only bureaucrats requesting the password if they like, but I still encourage admins to request it if they wish.

Please note that this account will not use my, or any other user's real account password, as that would be pretty dumb to hand out on a silver plate.

I hope you all read this and think about ideas and or reasons to oppose it.

I have added the flags to your IRC account. You may want to note down these things:

• /cs op #wikia-sims is to op on the channel (so you can kick users etc.)
• /cs deop #wikia-sims is to deop.
• /mode #wikia-sims +b user is to ban someone (-b to unban)
• /topic new topic is to change the topic
• /kick user is to kick someone

They are the basic commands which are used in order to operate the channel. Also for the flags to work, you need to type /ns identify Walker_guy94 password in order to login with NickServ. If you would like a cloak (which hides your IP), you may request one here. Feel free to ask for any help you need with the IRC channel.
