Community input required[edit source]

Hello, there is a fairly important discussion on the Community Portal talk page regarding the seemingly declining activity from users and input/suggestions on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 21:22, August 6, 2012 (UTC) This automated message was delivered by Bawt (talk) 21:22, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

Jon Smith Tricou's Descendants[edit source]

Hi,

Can I ask you in which game file you found the "names" of Jon Smith Tricou's descendants (Orion Teens, etc.)?

Thanks! --Aster09 (discussion) 14:40, September 6, 2012 (UTC)

I found it, thank you :) --Aster09 (discussion) 08:10, September 7, 2012 (UTC)

I'm baaack! *cackles*[edit source]

Hey, RandomRanaun! How are things? I'm not really back permanently, just popping up sporadically to do stuff. Anyway, I'd like to remind you that with the recent appearances of Olivia Goth and Samuel Goth, you might want to sew them into the Goth-Caliente family tree? Also, it still says that you're 14 and in the ninth grade in your bio. What's up with that? Are you taking the Elixir of life or something? Cheers! Bayoubash (talk) 07:56, October 3, 2012 (UTC)

Notice about the Warning template[edit source]

Hello fellow administrator. I wanted to make you aware of an upcoming changeover regarding the {{Warning}} template. You can see the discussion of this change here.

Starting now, a new warning template will be available for use. This template is currently available at {{NewWarning}}. However, on April 2, the new warning template will be moved to {{Warning}} and the old warning template will be retired. Please use this transition period to test out the new template before the full changeover. In the period leading up to the changeover, please report any bugs or issues, and offer any suggestions, in the new template discussion

The new template does away with the <reason> parameter of the old template. You can now make your warning more specific by filling in the <type> parameter. Type will automatically load in text depending on the type and the level you select. Additionally, certain types have multiple 'levels', ranging from 1 to 3, with 1 being the least severe, and 3 being the most severe phrasing of the warning message itself. The types are:

  • Vandalism (entered as 'vandal#') warns against making non-constructive edits. The 'vandal1' message is the template's default message if no type is entered.
  • Blanking pages or sections (entered as 'blank#') warns against removing content from entire pages or sections of pages.
  • Removing content (entered as 'remove#') warns against removing useful and accurate content from pages.
  • Violating file policy (entered as 'file#') warns users that upload files or images in violation of the Image and File policy.
  • Disruptive behavior (entered as 'disrupt') warns users that attack other users, engage in edit warring, etc.
  • Sockpuppetry (entered as 'sock') warns users that are suspected of having control over multiple unauthorized accounts.
  • Additionally, there is a custom option available if none of the pre-existing types suit your needs. If you choose to use a custom message, the <type> parameter should be set to 'custom' and the optional <custom> parameter will hold your message. If <type> says anything other than 'custom' and the <custom> parameter is filled in, the custom message will not display.

So, to sum it up, the parameters are:

<type>: You should fill this parameter in, unless you're alright with displaying the default, non-specific warning text.
<custom>: Fill this in only if you've filled in 'custom' under the <type> parameter; otherwise, leave this blank.
<sig>: This parameter is mandatory - include your signature here.
<other>: If you want to include additional information to the recipient, you can fill in this parameter. The text you enter will appear below your signature but above the 'boilerplate' message at the bottom of the notification.

One last thing... remember to substitute the template, just as you do when you use {{Warning}}. This is to ensure that any future changes to the template don't alter how it appears on user talk pages.

If you've got any questions about this new warning or its implementations, feel free to drop me a message. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 04:10, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Images from families (The Sims 2)[edit source]

Hi RR, how are you?

I have a doubt. How can I get a picture of a family from The Sims 2, to post in an article here? I've tried searching in SimPE, but I couldn't. The type of photo I speak is like this File:Burb family.png.

Thank you,

Editing other people's fanon[edit source]

I saw what you said about fixing stuff on other's people's fanons first. I don't have any beef with that or anything, but every time I edit someone else's fanon, it tranfers over to my username. How do I avoid that? Here is a prime example. I edited it to put a cleanup template, and it transfered to being my property. Can you help me? Hurshbr (talk) 04:52, May 4, 2013 (UTC)Hurshbr

Gallery (Darleen Dreamer)[edit source]

Why did you delete Darleen´s original appearance photo from her article? Mate1234 (talk) 18:39, July 9, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Darleen Dreamer[edit source]

I don´t think it´s not needed: Ѧüя◎ґ said that I should make such photos. Go to my talk page and read message titled: Original appearance. Mate1234 (talk) 14:50, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

Only you are againist that photo.  Ѧüя◎ґ said it´s ok, so please stop deleting those images. These images are not fanon, I have posted them to show original look of certain deceased Sims. Mate1234 (talk) 20:10, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

But Ѧüя◎ґ isn´t againist me. She said that I should absolutely add them. Mate1234 (talk) 20:49, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

Please stop.  Ѧüя◎ґ said that I should absolutely add them. Mate1234 (talk) 20:49, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

Why should I stop when the reason is silly? Those images are not fanon, and wiki users are supposed to improve it the best they can.  Mate1234 (talk) 21:04, July 11, 2013 (UTC)
