Category:Images of Console Sims[edit source]

This shouldn't be deleted; it is a category with 48 images and I think it should be moved instead. |_Andronikos Leventis Talk 18:42, January 28, 2011 (UTC)

Template:Tombld[edit source]

This template was nominated for deletion, by Thelamppost. DarthCookie deleted it, but, I felt that there was just no discussion about this, and decided to start it. Thoughts, questions? [Ѧüя◎ґ]
I see that it was undeleted. Also, it is used in quite a few articles and a few other templates. Even if the arguments for deleting it are valid, that should be cleaned up first. Dharden (talk) 22:26, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

Naenae Kwa[edit source]

I just found out with SimPE that witches, landlords and butlers all have random name. For example, Naenae Kwa is called Elise Copur and was called Lainey in my other neighborhood.JM9193 15:18, February 25, 2011 (UTC)

To make these articles not disappear we could move them to names like "Landlord34" and make explicit in the page that the Sim which is being described holds a random name in every specific game. What do you think? --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 15:26, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
Usually, every copy of a game will have the same 3 NPC names. For example, every copy of The Sims 2 had Kaylynn Langerak amongst a couple of others. A name is randomly generated when a new NPC is created for a purpose. As I have seen a few NPC pages that have been nominated, we should wait for a response from anyone who owns the games with these characters before we delete anything. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 15:30, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
As for Guilherme's suggestion, I think, if the articles are deleted; we should put the pics, aspiration and sign of the Sims on the matching NPC page: for example, the witches's pics might be moved to the Witch page, etc.
By the way, other similar NPCs include animal trainers and the police officiers that ship with The Sims 2: Pets.JM9193 15:38, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
It appears that the only NPCs who have fixed names are the initial base-game NPCs (even in neighborhoods added by EPs) and the Garden Club members. All other NPCs seem to get random names. We can move the pictures to Landlord, Butler, etc., but if they have random names, they should not have named articles. Dharden (talk) 16:49, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
I moved the infoboxes for the premade landlords to Landlord/Premade landlords, and designated them M1, M2, and F1. Dharden (talk) 03:42, February 26, 2011 (UTC)

Comparison between The Sims 3 and The Sims Medieval[edit source]

Since two different versions of this article have been deleted, I think it's safe to say that the necessity and/or desirability of such an article is in dispute. I think there should have been some discussion before the article was deleted, so I have restored it and nominated it. I ask that it be left up until there's been a reasonable amount of discussion.

There are significant differences between the two games, and The Sims Medieval is, in many ways, a break from earlier games. I think we should note that, but where and how -- and whether "where" should be a separate article -- is something to discuss. Dharden (talk) 14:38, March 26, 2011 (UTC)

Noticing what games already have comparison articles, it seems to me that the games that are compared to one another are ones that are similar, yet have enough difference to highlight in the article. I would say it would be pointless to compare two games that are unrelated to an extreme (like The Sims and Call of Duty), but where exactly this line of difference is drawn, I don't know. Certainly all the other game comparisons we have are comparing two or more games within the main series, not spin-off games like TSM. That's not to say that this comparison isn't valid, that's just an observation.
What I would suggest is that we mark that page for expansion and see how much information we can put onto it. If the page at any point looks unnecessary, we can re-evaluate its deletion. But feel free to do what you'd like. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 15:51, March 26, 2011 (UTC)
Keep. This article is readable and useful. /81.224.201.50 01:24, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
It seems this is arguably useful. Closed discussion. --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 12:32, August 2, 2011 (UTC)

Vulgar[edit source]

The real name of this page is Uncouth, and it's already created, shouldn't we deleted it? --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 18:32, April 3, 2011 (UTC)

The content was merged to the real page, the page is now a redirect. Thank you. --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 18:48, April 3, 2011 (UTC)

Category:Machinima[edit source]

Pretty useless category, since Machinima is fan created videos using The Sims games and the closest thing to it is Game Trailers, which we have video's for on game pages. --Zombie talkblog 09:48, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

Also, if it is to be used as Fanon, it would be redundant to add pages containing machinima videos to this category. Maybe we could rename it to "Fanon pages that make use of Machinima" or something along those lines. --Zombie talkblog 09:52, April 5, 2011 (UTC)
Because I seem to be unable to rename the category, I have deleted it. If someone does create fanon that makes use of this, we can make a category called "Fanon pages that make use of Machinima". Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 15:03, April 5, 2011 (UTC)
Point of notice, categories can't be renamed. --Zombie talkblog 15:09, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

George PacRayli Simstrong[edit source]

I suggest putting this up for deletion, since it does not really say much and seems pretty pointless, really. It kinda just takes up room, metaphorically. -XoTulleMorXo (talk and contributions) 04:47, April 9, 2011 (UTC)

Think you're right. Do we really need pages for sims who are only mentioned in one description? --WoganHemlock (talk) · (blog) 04:49, April 9, 2011 (UTC)

I changed the focus of the page to be the item, rather than the character. --a_morris (talk) 05:08, April 9, 2011 (UTC)

Hong family and Hua family[edit source]

The pages listed above are bad quality pages with little information, and I am unsure if families in vacation towns are randomly generated or not. I can't check TS3 to see if these families actually do exist at the moment, so does anybody know? Thanks, --Bleeh(talk) (blog) 17:16, April 10, 2011 (UTC)

The Sim pages for the members of Hua family contain some information. --a_morris (talk) 18:01, April 10, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, it turns out both families exist anyways and are not randomly generated. --Bleeh(talk) (blog) 18:04, April 10, 2011 (UTC)
I am sure that Hong family exists but about Hua family I don't know. Just let me do some research. Thank you. --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 17:12, April 12, 2011 (UTC)
They have some information on their pages, so they are considered useful. -XoTulleMorXo (talk and contributions) 17:51, April 12, 2011 (UTC)
Well, Hong family is real, and i think i already killed them saw the Hua family. We should try finding out about the Huas and upgrade their infos. Fabio Ferrado 17:35, April 14, 2011 (UTC)
As it seems they exit I closed this discussion.

Cevin Faron[edit source]

I think this page (if real) could be improved, some content must be added, otherwise a delete may be ponderable. Thank you. --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 20:06, April 14, 2011 (UTC)

This thread at Carl's mentions a Cevin Faron as a bachelor in Moonlight Bay, so it might be real. I added a stub template, but deletion shouldn't be ruled out. Dharden (talk) 20:19, April 14, 2011 (UTC)
Thank you Dharden. The Sim is probably real. Still with so little content this page might be redundant. --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 08:34, April 15, 2011 (UTC)
I say that we keep the page, as several other pages on sims only have a small amount of text in them. I see the reasoning for deletion, though. I'll add a bit to it. --WoganHemlock (talk) · (blog) 08:46, April 15, 2011 (UTC)
Oh thank you WoganHemlock (what do you prefer to be called?), since I don't have the game it's impossible for me to check. --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 08:55, April 15, 2011 (UTC)
Ok. I've added a bit of content and a player stories page to it. I'll write up a bit more now. --WoganHemlock (talk) · (blog) 08:59, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

File:214616r1bpv5xtez.jpg[edit source]

I don't think this image is related to our wiki's theme (Sims, duh :P), although it's a bit sad deleting such a beautiful artistic work... --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 19:13, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

If we do delete this, we should inform it's owner. It is featured on a fanon article, and perhaps they uploaded it as a picture they have made of one of their sims. We should ask the owner before we go any further. --WoganHemlock (talk) · (blog) 05:34, April 16, 2011 (UTC)

Due to the owner not improving their fanon, I have deleted it. As this image is only used on that fanon page, I have deleted it. --WH (Talk) 08:43, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Roxy Nelson and Alice Rannt[edit source]

I nominate Alice Rannt and Roxy Nelson for deletion, as I don't think they are real sims, and are mot likely fanon creations. If this is the case, they would be deleted as the creator is unregistered. --WoganHemlock (talk) · (blog) 08:12, April 25, 2011 (UTC)

According to this, Roxy Nelson is a sim from the sims 3 for xBox 360. Could someone please check this? --WoganHemlock (talk) · (blog) 09:00, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
Same user has made a player stories page for Alice Rantt. It is not in the correct format, and I have doubts about if it is a real sim. They say they exist in the sims 3 xBox, so could someone check? --WoganHemlock (talk) · (blog) 09:11, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
Yep, they're real. I'll try and cleanup the pages now, hopefully they weren't made on the layout builder... Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 09:17, April 25, 2011 (UTC)

Category:Sims with odd deaths[edit source]

This category appears to be uneeded and besides that "odd" is too much subjective and the opinion may depend from player to player. Thank you. --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 20:01, May 2, 2011 (UTC)

Tutorial:How To Complete .... Skill Challenge[edit source]

first im sorry for my bad english, i cant speak english well... i started to write a tutorial about how to complete skill challenge i already post for atheletic, charisma, cooking, fishing, and gardening. maybe for some advanced player think this tutorial is useless, but i think for some beginner player this tutorial is quite helpful. i dont merge it with the skill page that already exist here because this tutorial is basic. what do you think?

Wir.wiryawan 01:56, May 10, 2011 (UTC)

We don't have any real policies for the tutorial namespace, but I'd personally delete them as most of the information is found in the game and it's fairly self explanatory anyways. --WH (Talk) 04:23, May 10, 2011 (UTC)
Moved this entry to the bottom of the page. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 04:54, May 10, 2011 (UTC)

Cheating[edit source]

This page was made by an anonymous user, and I feel it is very similar to Affair. I think that it should be made into a redirect, but as it's a bit shady as to whether or not it should be deleted I decided to post it here. --WH (Talk) 06:21, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

Once it's cleaned up, I think some of the information could be incorporated into Affair, as Affair seems to be mainly focused on The Sims 2, and really doesn't have any info on The Sims. Dharden (talk) 06:57, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
I made a redirect to affair so the deleted article, Cheating would now redirect to Affair. WinMacSims3 19:34, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

The Sims 3 versions[edit source]

I think this can be cleaned up and moved so that it's a sub-page of The Sims 3. Dharden (talk) 18:30, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

I agree. --WH (Talk) 04:22, June 2, 2011 (UTC)
How can I move it to a subpage of The Sims 3? WinMacSims3 21:16, June 2, 2011 (UTC)
Rename it to The Sims 3/versions. --WH (Talk) 00:24, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

VIP Room glitch[edit source]

I think that it should not be deleted. Some wikis have articles about glitches. For example, Bulbapedia has articles about the ZZAZZ Glitch, the Trainer House Glitch and Tweaking and yet, those articles are not deleted (They are related to Pokémon). The Load Game Error glitch related to The Sims 3 and The Sims Medieval is not removed. So I think that that this article about glitches should NOT be deleted. WinMacSims3 21:04, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

It's in a bit of a grey area, I suppose. Load Game Glitches are common, and just about every player has got one at some point. Whereas this article is very specific. --WH (Talk) 00:25, June 4, 2011 (UTC)
If it is a minor glitch, they won't have their own articles but there should be an article titled "List of minor glitches". WinMacSims3 04:23, June 4, 2011 (UTC)
I had added a video to that article to show something about the glitch. So I think that it should stay on the wiki. WinMacSims3 20:42, June 5, 2011 (UTC)

Category:Redirects[edit source]

I think this category will come in handy, the GTA Wikia has one, and it help in keep tracking with all the redirects on the wiki.--Mr.Wikia 12:45, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

I do not think this is that useful. Although, it will not make anything worse, so we may keep the category. --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 12:47, June 13, 2011 (UTC)
To have the redirects categorized rather than just scattered around.--Mr.Wikia 12:51, June 13, 2011 (UTC)
I have deleted it as it isn't really necssary for this wiki and the majority of redirects are just shortcuts (i.e. EA redirects to Electronic Arts and TS3P redirects to The Sims 3: Pets). However, if someone else wishes to restore the category, I won't stand in the way. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 15:53, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

Category:Traits with one conflict[edit source]

I see why it is deleted, I thought the category would be useful as it would list all the traits with one conflict. However, I am thinking of making an article Trait conflict that lists traits with one, two and three conflicts.WinMacSims3 04:14, June 30, 2011 (UTC)

Publicly Disgraced[edit source]

Why the heck was this deleted. I thought this article would be useful as it is an article about penalties. I mean, there is an article about fine and it was not deleted. Just because that it is related to a moodlet desn't mean that WH should delete it. Wogan has no problems with the "Singed" article (It's related to a moodlet) and he did not delete it. Why was Publicly Disgraced deleted? I will recreate the page whatever you like it or not. I want this page restored. I demand an explanation.WinMacSims3 21:33, July 5, 2011 (UTC)

Before recreating it you should first check the input here and hear the opinions. Thank you. --Guilherme Guerreiro(talk here) 21:36, July 5, 2011 (UTC)
Ok, I will. How do I check the input and opinions?WinMacSims3 22:10, July 5, 2011 (UTC)
Here, or you may ask User:Woganhemlock, who deleted the article, by what I understood. --Guilherme Guerreiro(talk here) 22:22, July 5, 2011 (UTC)

Light bulb burn out glitch[edit source]

Why was it deleted? Just because it was related to glitches does not mean that it should be deleted. Like the Bulbapedia example, The Sims has glitches (Bad Mood glitch, VIP Room glitch, Load game error and Save game error) and it should be noted that the Light blub burn out glitch should not be deleted. I would have renamed it to the repair man glitches. I even added the article to category:glitches. If this removal/deletion continues, I may have to set up a separate wiki for glitches about The Sims games. If they are valid glitches, they should NOT be removed unless if they are minor. I even added the word "glitch". WinMacSims3 04:23, July 10, 2011 (UTC)

It was a minor glitch, and doesn't warrant an article. I have no problem with you adding a summary of it into glitches, but I discussed it with other administrators on IRC and we decided it does not warrant a page. --WH (talk) 09:27, July 10, 2011 (UTC)

The Sims (film)[edit source]

I've nominated The Sims (film) for deletion, as we haven't had any updates as to the status of the project in some time, leading me to believe that the film is in 'Development hell' and will likely not be made. Unless someone can provide some recent information to the contrary, I think we should delete this page. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 20:01, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

Just Googled for the film and I can't find anything new. Seeing as it is either in Development hell or cancelled, I think we should delete and if something does come up which brings "new hope" to the film's release, we can restore it. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 20:05, July 16, 2011 (UTC)
There haven't been new about it, unfortunately :'(. I would say delete if the project is cancelled. --Guilherme Guerreiro(talk here) 20:52, July 16, 2011 (UTC)
On the other hand, it could be kept in the interests of completeness, and re-written to show that it was considered, but never came to be. Dharden (talk) 22:04, July 16, 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, that's actually a better idea, I think. Deletion nomination withdrawn. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 22:43, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

Morrigan's Star Gazer[edit source]

The article Morrigan's Star Gazer was deleted (I even added an image). I just want to know that it exists. OMG, it is even a valid EA object. Would you delete the Wogan Hemlock article if you think that Wogan Hemlock is not a valid Sim. I am telling you, Morrigan's Star Gazer is a valid object.

It is considered that users want to at least "learn" the object. I used the SimObject Template (For Objects in The Sims Series) and the image (To show people what the object is like). Deleting objects is "sort of pointless" (I know that there are about 700 objects in The Sims). The GTA Wiki has articles about weapons/Guns and cars and Bulbapedia (A Pokémon wiki) has articles about Items, Glitches, Locations, Moves and more. You could have just at least merged it to Telescope.

Other words: Why was Morrigan's Star Gazer deleted? It is an object from Outdoor Living. help me.WinMacSims3 00:20, July 18, 2011 (UTC)

We typically don't have pages for every single object because doing that would lead to a lot of pages with virtually no information on them. It would be best to add that information to the telescope page directly, rather than to create a new page and just expect someone to merge it. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 01:14, July 18, 2011 (UTC)
I see the reason, I put the info about the Morrigan's Star Gazer to the Telescope article. I might move the objects to Telescope/List of objects which this article will contain information about telescopes from every game or we could just leave the objects' info on the Telescope article.WinMacSims3 04:06, July 18, 2011 (UTC)
I'd say it's best to leave them how they are, and just add objects to that page. ~>ђ (tคlкς๏ภtгเ๒ร) 08:54, July 18, 2011 (UTC)

Frying Fish Systems "OMGWTFBBQ!" Babby Roaster[edit source]

Besides being made for torturing poor little babies, this object does not appear to be official, therefore I don't think it warrants its own page. --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 12:08, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

I'm so sorry if I have offended you. I only added the page so that the Wiki will be larger. I have put a notice that the object isn't in The Sims 2 unless the mod is installed. Vss2eiptalk here 12:13, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

Oh I am not offended, I just think this page is not worth of being here due to being a non-official item. We generally don't cover non-official items. --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 12:17, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
