The Sims: Hot Date, The Sims 2: Nightlife and The Sims 3: Late Night are expansion packs with largely the same scope, but some difference. This is a comparison between the latter two.

Features in both

Features in Nightlife not in Late Night

Here are some features that were in Nightlife, but were not in Late Night.

  • Slow Dance
  • The Downtown sub-neighborhhod and the ability to attach more downtowns for a main neighborhood
  • Bowling
  • Restaurant system (includes restaurant NPCs such as the host, waiters and the sous chef)
  • Coffee stand and barista NPC (it was introduced in University but was carried on to NightLife)
  • DJ booth and DJ
  • Photo booth
  • Vampire coffin (Replaced by Altar)

  • Smustle
  • Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs
  • Chemistry

In The Sims 2, private cars were first introduced in Nightlife, but in The Sims 3 they exist from the base game.
