A cemetery is a unique community lot or home feature found in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. Pleasant Rest Graveyard is the cemetery in Sunset Valley, Old Town Cemetery is the in Riverview, and Gothier Green Lawns is the cemetery Downtown.

Or, Sim who is not so brave to play Indiana Jones, but needs some simoleons can get a part-time job as a Mausoleum Clerk.

This is also place where urns of the dead Sims who passed away in the Sunset Valley neighborhood repose in. Sim can put or get the urn with "Manage the Dead" command. With the urn, ghost of the dead Sim can be summoned by "failure" to resurrect it at Landgraab Science Facility. (special opportunity, "Oh My Ghost").

Fish in a pond located in the cemetery will turn into Deathfish and Vampire Fish at midnight. At around midnight mist will appear around all of the graves, and the ghosts will come out. If you have at least level 7 gardening you can plant seeds picked from the Death Flower Bush. These seeds are 'perfect' quality.

Home Cemeteries

Cemeteries have been constructable on the playable Sim's lot since The Sims. The Goth Family is famous for the many cemeteries found outside their homes in every game.

Gothier Green Lawns

Gothier Green Lawns is the cemetery found Downtown in The Sims 2. It features some members of the Tricou Family, and is right next to their home. It is the first cemetery found on a community lot.

The Pleasant Rest Graveyard is the cemetery in Sunset Valley. It may be called the "Pleasant Rest" Graveyard as in The Sims 2 Sunset Valley is called Pleasantview. In the center of Pleasant Rest Graveyard, there is a desolate and ominous-looking Mausoleum of Spectre family. Any Sim brave enough to venture into it can explore the Mausoleum to lay hand on unknown treasures which are rumored to be hidden deep in the abyssal bottom of it. Exploration proceeding and outcome are random and takes varying time of 3 to 5 hours, often result in sooty smear.

The Cemetery is far less Gothic than Sunset Valley's Pleasant Rest Graveyard, and has no statue of the Grim Reaper. At night, ghosts will appear around the graveyard and they will move all across the island. This could spook your Sims if they are shopping late.

With 30 Sims buried in Old Town Cemetery, some of the most notable Sims are:
