Seamus Riley is one of the pre-made deceased ancestral Sims that resided during his lifetime in Belladonna Cove, the neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: Apartment Life. He was the son of Donovan and Aurelai Riley, the husband of Lucia Riley (née Kupyi), the father of Timothy Riley, and the paternal grandfather of Sally Riley. Seamus is completely resurrectable, even though he doesn't have a grave. He has the Family aspiration, and the Scorpio zodiac sign. As far as personality, Seamus is very outgoing, somewhat neat, and a little bit outgoing. But he is quite serious and grouchy. Seamus is one of the few ancestral Sims to die as an adult, so he died a premature death. According to his age data, he had 29 days left in the adult life stage when he died.

Seamus uses the 16th Maxis face template in Create a Sim, except for the ears and eyes which use the 11th face template, and the nose which uses the 2nd face template. The chin is slightly narrower, the lower face is slightly wider, and the eyes are closer to the forehead than on the default template. Also the jaw is longer than on the default face. However the jaw is only longer on teenage, adult and elder females, which may mean that the jaw was genetically passed down, as this oddity generally only occurs on Sims whose facial features were genetically passed down. Seamus' SimDNA in SimPE shows that he carries the recessive allele for red hair.

Unlike several other married ancestors from Apartment Life who have memories of their spouses, he only has Mystery Sim memories. However Seamus still has memories of Timothy's birth, and meeting his granddaughter Sally. Strangely, his memories indicate that he met his grandchild Sally, before he met Mystery Sim. His wife's memories on the other hand are much more accurate, as they indicate that meeting Sally was the last thing that she remembered. This was probably a mistake made by the developers.

Seamus: A Gaelic name meaning "he supplanted" and "subsitute". It is pronounced shay-mus.

Riley: A surname of English or Irish origin. The English version comes from the Old English word "rye" and "leah", meaning "wood" and "clearing".

The Gaelic-Irish version is Ó Raghallaigh, which means "grandson of Raghallach", which is believed to have derived from ragh (meaning 'race') and ceallach (meaning 'sociable').
