Edit Warring?

I thought I was just undoing vandalism. That editor didn't even put in a reason, and the thing is, with crank calls, my sims rarey if ever get slapped or anything - usually they just ring the doorbell and my sim can greet them, and build a relationship. Just figured I'd put in something useful for those who love to play the Beaker household or are big fans of Nervous Subject and want to keep his personality as 0-0-10-0-0. Anyway, I didn't mean to cause trouble, though I wish whoever reported me would've instead just talked it over with me on my talk page, to explain what edit warring was. I did get the warning on my page. Do you have any tips on making a better edit? Because making crank calls has really helped me get Nervous Subject and other grouchy sims to actually invite their acquaintances over and build relationships. It even got Nervous to become best friends with the NPC that he eventually married. It's a wonderful feature, and the sims that a grouchy sim crank-calls don't always poke, shove or slap the crank-caller - the relationship might suffer a little, but the victim of the call might just be easygoing about the incident and chat with whoever made the call.

Whether or not the person(s) doing this is well-meaning but misinformed, they've shown signs of being persistent. Maybe the semi-protection should be put back in place.

IP check

Hi there, my name is SodaDog and i originate from Nintendogs wiki that i have got back running. I've already gone ahead and made a thread regarding this guy (though the attacks have calmed down now). It's best to keep an eye out for userpage vandals or someone trying to "delete" warnings from talk pages. I can't really do much now as I'm not at my own house and I'm off out for the night. To be honest, I'm not too sure. I do remember asking the user who uploaded the images how s/he got them but I never got a response. I doubt that they recreated literally every Sim on the PC version just for the shots because a) that would be time consuming and b) it would be difficult to get spot-on. Current block spree

Blocking those IPs aren't necessary. IPs can be renewed at any time. Blocking them for infinite is very rarely ever needed. Besides, all those IPs are already blocked globally. Rappy 21:56, May 26, 2012 (UTC)

I did notice a fair few that didn't have any block attached at all; I only gave them permanent blocks mainly down to the fact that they're proxy servers which get abused more often than not. A block I made

There's no way that anyone on this wiki can make it so that an edit made with your IP can be accredited to your account. In fact, I think the MediaWiki software prohibits anyone from doing it, even Wikia's staff. Lost Labyrinth • (c) • (b) 20:42, June 30, 2012 (UTC)

109.151.70.1 claimed that they're not CC555 nor do they use BT though I just looked up the IP and it seems they're lying. I'm kind of convinced that it is CC555 as she has a history of lying to try and get out of any situation and a Checkuser would be useless as her account (including her socks) are stale. Besides, regardless of any relation they're evading a ban anyway so I'll block for that. Also someone can change their IP by merely rebooting their modem and/or router. I've had a look at the filters and patched it so that admins can edit his userpages. I'll keep trying to shape filters around his editing pattern but based on this, he's clearly trying to get around the Abusefilter and seems smart at doing so; we'll just have to try and think ahead... Yeah it's pretty clear he's only here to either add that term to a load of pages, create pages with names including that term or move pages to names containing that term. The thing I'm most worried about if anything is how he's getting around the filters. I've banned her three IP ranges that she's known to use for a week. The problem we have here is that BT (her ISP) are the largest internet service provider in the UK and one range could be stuffed with activity from literally a large percentage of our British userbase, hence why we can't permanently ban the ranges, besides from the fact that BT just randomly allocate an IP address to a customer, from any IP range. :/ Lost Labyrinth • (c) • (b) 12:49, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
