Chickens are a type of NPC animal that appear in The Sims 2: Castaway, as part of the "Fowl And Feathers Chicken Coop" in The Sims 3 Store, and at Sulani in The Sims 4: Island Living. More interactive versions make an appearance in The Sims 4: Cottage Living.

The Sims 2: Castaway

Chickens are present in The Sims 2: Castaway. They can be captured by using a crafted trap. They produce chicken feathers which can be used as a material for crafting clothing.

The Sims 3 Store

Chicken appear in The Sims 3 with "Fowl And Feathers Chicken Coop" premium content. It was included in the "Country Livin'" and "April 2013 Compilation" from The Sims 3 Store. The "Fowl And Feathers Chicken Coop" premium content also can be purchased separately.

Interactions

  • Collect eggs, if chickens is well-fed, they will produce better quality eggs.
  • Ask your chickens for the answers.
  • Cuddle with baby chicks.
  • Argue and/or fight with Charles the evil chicken.

The Sims 4

A Sim collecting eggs in Cottage Living.

Chickens appear as decorative neighborhood objects in The Sims 4: Island Living. They can be seen roaming around Sulani, and are purely decorative. They cannot be interacted with in any way.

Interactive chickens are added in The Sims 4: Cottage Living. They can be purchased using the Chicken Coop object in build mode, and Sims can keep a maximum of eight chickens. When fed, they produce eggs that can be collected for use in cooking and baking. Sims can also hatch new chickens for the coop, if they have a hen and a rooster in the coop available to breed.

A lot with the fox lot challenge enabled will cause wild foxes to show up and try to steal eggs from coops. Foxes can be warded off by owning a llama, which will spit on them and scare them away.
