Hekatonschoinos
'Urban Legends has it that Kallisto, who was ever rumored to be a psychic in the first place ever since Holly Alto's insanity, became so wacky that Kallisto's whims alone had spawned this landmass. This rather strange setting is now the Capital world of Kallisto's nascent Church of Alexandros.'

Hekatonschoinos is the capital world of the Church of Alexandros, and the seat of power of Kallisto's Papal State. It is currently underdeveloped, and most residents are either the followers of the new religion or immigrants seeking work.

Hekatonschoinos, despite the relative underdevelopment and underpopulation, has scores of opportunities for work, featuring infrastructures for work in all fields of careers, as well as multiple shops and merchant work. The major force in the neighborhood is the supposed creators of the landmass and certain founders of the new city, the Union of the Insane in which Kallisto is a part of, and despite its split to maintain their hold over their old domain at Sunset Valley, Union of the Insane remains the most powerful household in Hekatonschoinos. Most houses available are largely middle class dwellings, and land is plentiful in the region.

In terms of style, Community rabbit holes are mostly surprisingly non-Hellenic, which is not surprising due to the lack of community buildings supporting the Greek style. However, there are many Hellenic style buildings, such as a park/temple Naiskos tou Propatros, or a small temple of the Forefather, and an incomplete segment of the Agora, where the first segment with its food vendor, public baths, and a Chapel, at the central islet of Hekatonschoinos. As for residential lots, there are some modern buildings sprinkled around, but the 4 dominant styles are the Naos-Stratopedon style buildings usually reserved for the faithful and almost all of them located at the Gulch of the Faithful at the northwestern side of the city, the Agroikotatos style building which has that rustic feel, the "Attic" style, a semi-modern style that is planned to be redone to fit the Hellenic style, and the rather Greek-style dwelling with a large barn for animals as well as huge space for gardening.

Geographically, Hekatonschoinos is divided into 7 distinct parts: There is the Northwestern Islet, which is the smallest Islet of Hekatonschoinos, and there is only one lot: the second Palace of Pella-Syrakousai which is marked as a exclusive lounge, without its exclusivity. Bordering that is the Cradle of the Faithful, which is shaped sort of like the Triskelion, and it is quite densly laid with residential lots, most of them developed. It is the only segment of the Hekatonschoinos to have the Naos-Stratopedon style dwellings, and the more traditional Ancient Greek-style houses are also common in the said region. It is also the most important, as it is where the Hekatonschoinos Chapter of the Union of the Insane lives, but also because of the strategic Tiberium field just below their dwelling along with the Palaistra Stratotike (the Martial Arts Academy) which is designed to have more of the Eastern feel, the Art Gallery and the Junkyard. Below that is the Islet of Governance, which is insignificant for the most part, with only the City Hall and another Traditional Ancient Greek-style house located at the islet, although with some fishes and collectibles there. Below that is what ended up being the East Asian Enclave, and there was most of the unoccupied residential lots, as well as it being the center of small-scale employment, although it also housed the Theatron, the Science Lab, and a Mausoleion. Moving Southeastward is the Military islet, housing one residential lot, the Military Base, and the Rocket Assembly. Moving East is the Lower Nome, the largest portion of Hekatonschoinos, housing the Plumbbob Film Recording Center, the Eastwind Trade Center, a Gymnasion, and a Library, as well as the Central Park, and it too has a number of residential lots, 4 of them of the semi-modern "Attic" style, as well as a Epiteichisma style (which was more of a medieval castle influenced lot) housing that was used by the Scholars' Union and the Alkmaionids back in Sunset Valley, both relocated to Hekatonschoinos. Connecting from the Lower Nome is the India Islet, jokingly named because it was located the farthest to the east with few large lots, and the second largest islet above it (and connected to the west by the Cradle of the Faithful), where some businesses and school existed, as well as an library and a public Nectary, alongside a few residential lots, most of them empty, although at the southern jut, there is the Stadion, the Hospital (named Asklepeion), and the Attalid dwelling in their Palace resort style. Connected to it alone, is the Central Islet with its large beach and the Agora.

With development still in progress, the Papal State added two new public building (as well as a premade coffee shop packed in with Showtime) as well as a residential lot: first in the Asian Enclave the Papal Authority created a Meditative Ground in which practitioners are to medidate (in comparison to the Naiskos Propatros (and the Temple at the Agora) used more for communal gatherings) Secondly at the lower nome the Papal State creates the greenhouse for purposes of publically sharing bred plants, featuring some Trees of Prosperity created form R&D. The Papal State also creates the Megaron Epitropou, or Mansion of the Governor, which essentially hints at Kallisto's wish to make segmented representation at the core of the new state.

The world itself is now semi-complete, now rid of the lag issues. Before the true release, the names will need to be translated and a bit of a spiffing up will be done.

Mass Immigration

However, it was only a matter of time before sims were attracted to the once isolated neighborhood like moth to the flames: jobs were plentiful, the place was fairly large and countrylike rather than suburban, and the buff established by the rumors around its creation led to some immigration just for curiosity. The "Attike" style house were quite readily available from the beginning, and Kallisto and the others also went around building more houses, thus a ready availability of housing and low prices due to underpopulation inevitably led to mass immigration.

Notable immigrants not initially related to the Union of the Insane are mostly what the Greeks called the Klerouchoi, East Asian immigrants drawn to Hekatonschoinos due to cheap land and work opportunities, as well as the presense of the Union of the Insane itself. The first two Klerouchoi families are the Kang Family and Kagawa Family of Korean and Japanese origins respectively, both settling at what would be the Asian Enclave, to a point where in the Union terminology that part of Hekatonschoinos was called the Klerouchia, and call the immigrations Doron Pragmas, or "gift of work".

Third Timeline

File:HekatonschoinosDraft.png
Height map of the earlier version of Hekatonschoinos. Diagonal lines represent uncontested control, horizontal lines contested control. Blue lines represent the Koreans, the Red Chinese, and the Orange Japanese.

With the Third Timeline, the order in Hekatonschoinos has gone down the drain, since the Church did nto exist in the 3rd timeline. Instead, 3 East Asian factions divided by ethnicity struggle for hegemony in Hekatonschoinos. The Chinese are centered around the Klerouchiai, #8 on the map, and also has control of the Governance Islet and Military Islet, #9 and 7 respectively. As such, the Chinese also has uncontested access to the mausoleion, as well as Hekatonschoinos' largest grocery chain, while including in its sphere of influence the Politics, the Science, the Music, and the Military career structures.

The Koreans are centered on the Cradle of the Faithful, #1 on the map, and also has great control over most part of the Commerce/Culture Landmass #3 on the map. They are contesting the control of the southern jut of the #3 landmass, since it is one of the most strategically important region, housing both the Medical and Professional Sports career structures, with the Japanese. Having control of such regions, Koreans have access to many of Hekatonschoinos' cultural buildings, such as the Palace of Pella-Syrakousai in Northwestern Islet (#2 on map), as well as the Palaistra, the Art Gallery, and the Nectary. In exchange, the Koreans lack access to bookshops, and the control over career is quite limited should Koreans lose any control of the southern jut of the Cultural landmass, since it would reduce them to exerting influence on only Law Enforcements and Education career, both subject to the law instead of whim of private factions, such as that of the Music and the Science Career.

The Japanese are centered on the India Islet, and they have access to the parks, as well as the access to the only gymnasion in Hekatonschoinos due to their control of the Lower Nome (#5 on Map). The Japanese have control over the film industry, and they also have the Criminal network in their territory. The Japanese career options would depend on the dispute over the southern jut of the Cultural landmass, since securing that region would give them greater access to the Medical career and the Professional Sports career. The Japanese also could seek towards occupying the Military islet, garrisoned only by one Chinese family, and seize control of the Military career structure, although there are no available lots for them to exert or contest the control.

Kallisto's renovations and Urban Problems

Having made the renovations mentioned above, the world soon became a fully functional town. Although quite imbalanced, having very few employees in the actual academic fields, this was offset by two important reforms: The formation of the career-oriented schools at workplaces (such as the Ergasterion Epistemikon (the Science Lab, literally the Scientific Factory) and the Culinary schools revolving around numerous restaurants) led to a lightening on the much lacking teacher population, where Leonardo Mathis originally assumed the role as the teacher until he quit, replaced by Kallistrata's 2nd simbot and 4th Deutarchon Aristophanes. In addition, most of the town's population that is not affiliated with Kallisto were mostly residing in the Nesos Poleos (named after the Roman Insula, which also meant the apartment as well as an island), turning Nesos Poleos, which was originally meant to house the lower-class quite spaciously with plenty of facilities into a slum of sorts: a building originally planned for 16 housing somewhere near 20. This was not helped by Melissa's choice to move into the 1st floor quarters (the Nesos designed to house 2 pairs of companions each floor) further reduced available room. On top of that, Kallisto had one fatal problem: a lack of lower-class dwelling in general, all buildings worth more than the standard amount 17,000 simoleons, which discouraged immigration (Klerouchoi an exception since Kallisto houses them for free in exchange for allegiance and maintenance).

Trivia

File:ErrorLocation.png
Location of the said problem, although the World shown in the snapshot here is outdated.

*Schoinos means rope, and the plural form is Schoinoi. There is region in Ptolemaic Egypt named Triakontaschoinos, meaning 30 ropes, which is the basis for the name. This is the reason for the usage of the singular form schoinos at the ending rather than schoinoi. This is because numbers above 3 does not have inflections. The name might be unfitting, since the name Hekatonschoinos implies that is is much larger than the Ptolemaic Egyptian region, as Hekaton means 100 (and Triakonta 30). However, since Schoinos does not have an exact measure (the unit historically varied between region), the name might make sense if the unit was drastically smaller, sinice Hekatonschoinos is a large city at best, Triakontaschoinos an entire region between Thebais, the lower end of Lower Egypt and Kush marking Upper Egypt.

File:FAIL.png
One of the minor mistakes. Most routing issues have been resolved.
  • The literal translation of Basilikos Paradeisos Pankarpion, one of the new additions to the neighborhood, is Royal Garden of all Fruits.
  • It is still under development, although there are some progress.
  • Doron Pragmas is a reference to Doron Aroures, the gift of land, which is mentioned in Europa Barbarorum as a method of population appeasement. Of course, in this case, Doron Pragmas is more or less used interchangeably with Kallisto's Klerouchiai (which itself is better named Katoikia, since no grant of land is involved) system in which participants receive work opportunities and dwelling in exchange for religious affiliation and participation in certain Ecclesiarchal programs.
