Not to be confused with Simoleons.

Fortune (known as Wealth in The Sims 2 console versions) is an aspiration to gain money, become really rich, and buy things. It is not unusual for these Sims to want things even if they can't really afford them, or don't have anywhere to put them. The wants of this aspiration can be fulfilled more easily with the Open for Business expansion pack.
