John Mole is a pre-made playable Sim in Desiderata Valley, the neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: FreeTime. He is a secret spy who likes to watch his neighbor's activity. John has a telescope in his backyard for spying. He works in the Intelligence career as a Crime Scene Investigator. John lives alone in his house at 153 Main Street. He has met all of his neighbors, with relationships at least acquaintances, similar to Rose Greenman of Riverblossom Hills.

John loves Tinkering, and it appears as his predestined hobby. He has level 7 enthusiasm with the hobby title Eager Engineer. He has a membership card to Will's Garage. His house resembles a tech-style, and very suitable with the Tech social class. He has a mini pool in his backyard and a telescope. Also, many tinkering gadgets are scattered on the ground. In his front yard, at the left of the front door, fits a single driveway.

John appears to have two romantic interests. He has a crush on Sharon Wirth, and allegedly, Natasha Una is interested in him, though they are not crushes, and have very bad chemistry. John knows all of his neighbors. He is friends with Edward Contrary. Luis Aspir, Natasha's cousin, thinks John is strange. He seems to not understand both Natasha and John's characters.

John was raised by his grandmother. His parents died when he was still little. His memory and photo album show inconsistency. His memory states that his father, James died when he was a toddler, while his photo album shows John (as a child), James, and Lucy, John's mother. Also, in his memory, John's grandmother, Becky Provacateur, died when he was a teenager, while his family photo shows John as an adult with Becky. He also has a wrong memory of "John got an A+", where the memory is supposed to be "Got an A+ Report Card".

John once had a fire and got burgled, but the memory he has of getting burgled is positive when it should be negative. Unlike Nina and Dina Caliente who have memories of Gordon King robbing their house, John's memory does not show the burglar who robbed his house. At the start of the game, a thought bubble appears above John's head, and it always shows his mother in it. When the family is first played, he is 29 days from being an elder. John uses a slightly customized variation of the 27th Maxis face template in Create a Sim.
